We're fascinated by our food and where it comes from so couldn't pass up the chance to take a butchery course with The Ginger Pig! We accept it's not for everyone so here's James's favourite video instead to watch

The more I watch these kinds of vids, which show the experiences of raising & butchering meats, the more the importance of animal husbandry comes through as the theme. As regular consumers, we tend to be so detached from the actual animal and it's almost too easy to go pick up a hunk of meat for dinner, choosing what's on sale & making meat the focus of our diets, instead of being focused on learning more & buying better meat in lesser quantities. In America, we sure have a long way to go to change our lifestyle, but vids like this help so much. :)

As a meat eater i can appreciate and respect where and how the process is and i do believe that anyone that eats meat needs to see or at least understand that process because people in general forget that an animal was killed and butchered for that meat and didn't just magically appear out of nowhere into a burger, lol. Good job gents in informing them of that and a great video at that.

I think that if you eat meat you should know where your food comes from, and you should be able to watch that guts and blood included. Too many kids in the UK these days don't even know names of vegetables, they have no idea how nuggest or burger are made, and that's just sad! So I'm glad these guys show this! (I'm vegetarian but I'm still watching this)

I genuinely believe you shouldn't be allowed to eat meat unless at least once you kill, clean, and butcher your own animal. If you want to enjoy it you should know there was a sacrifice of life for it that should be respected. It's why I like hunters.

I don't personally eat pig except on the rare occasion. However, I do eat me such as steak, venison, moose, etc. I feel bad for the cute piggies. can't eat them.
But. I didn't think I'd be this unfazed by this.

Only thing I didn't like about this video was the length. I'd have loved this to be like 20 minutes long.
Also, I love Liam's Irish accent. Just saying.

I would watch a whole series of on the origin of ingredients. It is sometimes hard to even know what a certain ingredient is, not mentioning its origin

Crazy how diffrent other butchers do it. I worked as a butcher for 10 year and done it other ways. Good to see how other people do it.

Do more of these! If people choose to eat meat, they should see the whole process from livestock to slaughter to butchery to cooking
