Most one-use gadgets have no place in our kitchens. Unless they are extremely efficient compared to using common instruments. Like, nutcracker. It's not easy to crack a hazelnut cleanly with a mallet/ hammer and other usual instruments. But even in such case you buy a specialised instruments only when you do it often, like, maybe some people would buy an egg slicer. I don't even own a garlic crusher thingie, I have my knives. But a blender - it turns out, it's very useful and serves multiple purposes. My mom looks down even on mixers (I have one, it makes it easier to make dough.

1: 33 incorrect adding ice does not lower the temperature. It lowers the melting point and gives you a cold slurry which can more readily absorb heat than icecubes alone. It does drop the temperature of an ice bath with water as when you have 2 phases present the minimum temperature of the bath is the melting point so -18C ice + 0C water no longer gives a 0C bath but say -5C brine. you dont go bellow the original -18C

I've been cooking since the 1970s and I've never needed a pair of tongs for cooking. When I cook sausages, I use a standard dinner fork to turn them and to remove them from the pan. Even the nice tongs that Ben used, as opposed to the gadgat ones, seemed like overkill to me.

The sallad potato thing is for new potatoes. and we eat a lot of them in scandinavia. And they are so small that peeling them is a bother and they are supose to have some skin left on them. So most familys on the country side have a machin like that one.

The tong-scooper thing was definitely not closing correctly. Im fairly sure the webbing was supposed to pop out the other direction.
Itd make scooping easier and be more out of the way for tonging.

For the ice cream ball. Set it up over a tire on a stationary bike. Ride the bike until ice cream has been achieved then eat. Or if you want to be lazy set the ball up on a lathe.

The chef with the beard and the bad teeth is so condescending, like one of those 'real' chefs forced to demo cook in talk shows.

Ben is a loss. Obviously he is way too into himself as a drama queen to think outside of the box on how something might work
