The crispy level on that looked Popeye s chicken sandwich level good. I m not even vegan and if I saw a picture of that on a menu I d probably order it. (Also, nutritional yeast is popular with vegans because it s high in B12 and protein and offers a cheesy taste. It s a great tasty way to bump up some nutrients vegans don t often get, and it s really good on popcorn or even mixed into a veggie gravy to up the umami taste. I went to a university with a vegan cafeteria and a high vegan population so I learned a lot about vegan nutrition while I was there)

Please do an episode where the guys have a budget and have to buy them from the pre chosen ingredients available to make the same dish!
For instance, expensive mushrooms vs cheap! Is that where they choose to spend their money? Or would they rather spend it on the premium meat? Does it make a difference in the end result of the recipe?

Hey guys! Awesome content this video. Question: how well would that mayo keep? I'm usually a big fan of making my own mayo but I live alone and shelf life of homemade mayo is terrible. With the aquafaba approach I could more easily see myself making a bunch which keeps for longer so I don't have to bin half of it. Please advise

Questions:
Why not dubble fry?
Why not treat the patty as korean fried chicken glace?
Where is the spice; )
Seriously though, that looked very nice! Might just try that - didn't seem like too much work and you got me really interested in Satan. I mean seitan.
Yeah, I'll see myself out.

As an American, that KFC Zinger is not a burger. That is a sandwich. A burger is a specific sub section of sandwich. Specifically it is a patty of ground material (usually meat and specifically beef meat) on a bun.
If served in slices of bread with cheese then it is a patty melt.

Idk if i would want to try this just yet until the sponginess gets figured out. I wonder if pressure against it might help while its boiling. I just really hate that texture. Its like thewolfepit says about TVP. Its like a soggy mattress in a nursing home!

Vegan food would taste so much better if it wasn't for the ridiculous culture and marketing around it. Ohh well. assuming our species survives the next few years mass cell cultivated meat will be the norm and we can stop this whole silly vegan thing.

We now need the next video on how to infuse flavors into seitan try when raw, when cooked, sous vide, rubs, crusts, etc. sounds interesting.
You could also do some food lab into improving the texture with more or less peas, other stuff etc.

Loved the video as always boys!
Can someone explain why Ben doesn't try any of the originals? (Same with the big mac episode)
Surely it's not really a recreation when you don't have a base to test against?
