You could compare a Thermomix to cheaper alternatives! It's a food processor/cooker that is quite famous in continental Europe.
You can weigh ingredients and it can blend, chop, mix, grind, knead, whip and emulsify food as well as heat it. You can also steam food with it (it comes with an attachment for that.
A lot of families use it since you can add roughly chopped ingredients to it and it chops it and you can then cook it in the same pot without using a hob. And you can leave the cooking up to it and go do other things.
I know that Lidl had a knockoff version of it.
The real Thermomix are REALLY expensive 1400-1700 and the knockoffs are around 400, but I've seen one from Bosch that was also almost 1300.

The ultimate tests for a blender or food processor are a) Breaking rice for Jok and b) Grinding meat. I'm a university student, so when I buy either a blender or a food processor, I don't and can't expect it just to make smoothies or process food, it HAS to do both. If I'm making Jamaican curry and have to whiz up some curry paste, it has to perform. If I'm making an oreo vanilla-whey smoothie, it has to work; and, if I'm craving lamb burgers and got two lamb steaks for 3, it better grind that properly.

For anyone wanting to try out espresso, I don't recommend getting a cheap machine, as they often give a disappointing result. I would instead look at something like the flair espresso pro, that's completely manual. Though it can't steam milk, it can make great espresso. The most important part however is the grinder, where you should consider buying something of high quality. Good luck: )

Look, I'm gonna side with Barry on this one. Every campground I've been to has a metal ring fire pit and boiling or simmering without a lid on top of the logs guarantees ash in your food. I've done it, I'd do it again, but if I had one of these it'd definitely pack along with me. I'll save the fire for the frying. Also Barry can't leave the hob on if he doesn't have one everywhere he goes.

If, for whatever reason, you can't have a gas hob (the best for controllability, IMO, then induction is the way to go- I have a built-in 90cmx60cm 5 zone Siemens affair, coming up for 10 years old, almost as good as gas and possibly cheaper in the long run. Non-conductive pans? You can buy steel discs to put in between the wrong pan and the induction rings, problem solved!

Just replaced my 40 blender with the ninja 4 months ago and i can only say its a huge difference. Not sure if theres much difference to others in its price range, BUT u guys have to try to make a hot chocolate with it. OMG thats awesome! Soups are cool as well but could be done as good with a pot and a mixer you simply dont have to look after it while cooking.

No idea the extent to Jamie's color blindness, but a surprise with those glasses so he can see colors would be fantastic! Then do a cooking battle together after the surprise wound down. Not even sure if they make them to fit with glasses. I know so little about them. I'd just like him to see colors for the first time! Surely, he'd appreciate it.

I can never watch a normal coffee video without acting and sounding pretentious. jimseven what have you done to me.
Also did I just see medium ground coffee being put into the portafilter? I m getting flashbacks from that cursed Keurig video.
(In all fairness, I don t blame Jamie. He has more important things to focus on)

for induction, I wish you'd shown something needing low heat - think that's the learning curve since it heats up so quickly, and might cycle on and off. For those prices, I might do the whisk test myself. While the conclusion sounds reasonable, having the fat contamination in the 1st one wasn't 100% fair
