Yes, the stereotype is true, we Irish folks love our taters. btw, a tip for tasty, subs/viewers, to rid the taters of as much water as possible, after straining, draining, squeezing out of a tea towel, etc, .place the taters in a salad spinner & whirl all that water out, sometimes it is better to use the salad spinner first, depending on the recipe. If you do not have a salad spinner, it is a good investment, cost is appx. 15. 00 usd, & comes in handy for many recipes, & obviously salad.

Im confused. Why was the potato water reddish brown when squeezing it through the cloth but the potatoes were white? Ive never seen that before.
