Just got a used deep fryer at goodwill for 10 today Weve made fish and chips in a fast iron pan before but we caused an oil fire last time. We needed to get a legit fryer I wouldnt recommend most people try deep frying in an lot like this (though its definitely better than the relatively shallow cast iron pan we used.

Chips overcooked and batter looks soggy and greasy. Chips salted twice while cooking, fish salted both sides before battering, the whole lot salted again at the end. .

I dont like your recipe on fish and chips because when u marinated the fish with beer. I still like fish and chips. Drinking alcohol is against my religion.

Mmmm fresh battered fish is awesome. Where I live the most common fish to use is gummy shark. Hoki or blue grenadier is also very good battered.
