As a non-American, Ive only heard about Apple pie by cooking channels. It always seemed like that the traditional approach to a crust was to combine cold butter, flour and cold water to achieve a flaky crust. So I am a little confused of why none of these judges seemed to like what I thought was the traditional way, or am I just wrong?

No Jesse ur TastyOh my god why would you even do Michelle if she uses store bought pie dough thats cheating and of course it tastes bland its store bought and not home made. God no, my goddesses reputation has been smeared All of these recipes look dry. I dont like dry apple pie Id rather eat a kitty litter sammich.

Life Pro Tip: Take a road trip to rural America in the summer. Find a small town with a summer festival or farmers market. They will likely have a pie baking competition, which is mostly going to be a bunch of old farmers wives. This is the best pie you can ever have.

I would do that thing where people comment like 70% of comments is this 10% is this and so on. But literally Ive seen only ONE comment that isnt about how how awful these judges are. AND I COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY AGREE

None of them do, because all apple pies suck. In truth most pies suck. I only like coconut cream pie w/whipped cream, & pecan pie but with atleast a 1/3 less sugar in both the filling & topping only 2 pies i like

Ok so Michelle Obama supposed to be healthy, and she put four sticks of butter in her pie, and then one of the judges said it wasnt buttery enough, then a cheesy pie is to plain and basic

This series would be worlds better if you got someone like Alvin, Alix, Rie, or really, any of the tasty producers to judge it. I sometimes feel like these judges are waaaaay too harsh and picky.

These judges suck they obviously just choose whoever is in the office not doing much -puts a lot of moisture too dry -apple pie has too much apples -the list could go on
