Hi Brandon, I've done approx. 100 paintings in about 6 years. I REFUSED to let go of each and every one. And got them out over and over to do more. I ruined many. But I improved some. It's never my intention of course to fool more, but when you see it with fresh eyes each time, you do see things it needs or could use. How long to do you paint at a single time? My judgement really fails me after about one hour max. I stopped painting because it was pure TORTURE! Been a year. So, i'm starting one right now again.

What separates the great masters is there ability -to see- what they are creating. This is accomplished by their ability to shift into and use right brain perception. Some are born with this ability, but the rest can learn it. Check out Betty Edwards -Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain- and -Drawing On The Artist Within- for mastering or further enhancing this skill in a relatively short period of time. If you can -see- like a master artist, with practice you will be one.

-Failing is not just for children or beginners. Failing happens at all stages of life. -. -The people who didn't get anywhere are the ones who failed once or twice and just gave up and moved on to something else. -. -Don't throw the towel in, don't put the paint brushes down, don't put the pencil down. - So many encouraging words of wisdom from this young artist. Sometimes this is just the tutorial I need rather than one that applies techniques. Thank you!

Find out how the artist do their work as well, some use projectors and they don't draw at all they just used the projected image. Don't be fooled by some of these artists out there with perfect drawing like I said a lot of Use projectors. Even some of the old time are the come from the classical. They also used some type of equipment to trace out rejections.

You know what I-ve noticed with my own drawing and whatever else is that over time I realize I-ve learned something and didn-t realize I learned it. As far as failures go, I have filled many many trashbags with sketches and drawings: -)
