Thank you for the videos you guys put out. You've really made my gardening journey an enriching experience. I've only started doing real gardening last year and I've watched your videos like crazy. You guys really helped me come a long way in a short amount of time. I always do mad research before fully pursuing a project and your videos really helped me have a decent success in my first year. I've learned quite a lot from my first year of growing and if it weren't for your videos I may have been too discouraged to really fully commit or see through to the second year. You really helped me and without that I'm not sure I'd still be growing today so thank you for all the content you put out. I look forward to seeing what you bring next

Tbh i tried fresh loquat from china and i dont see whats nice about them. But i see people raving about it saying it taste very good. Even my friend was raving about them asking me to buy it when i see it. Some say it taste like sweet chinese cough medicine which they love but all i got was 5/10 sweetness and 6/10 acidity with apricoty flavour. What do you guys taste when eating fresh loquat? Im from asia and we have a ton of tropical fruit so maybe im too used to eating good tasty fruit so loquat means nothing to me now. Marian plum is way better so if you can get that, get it!

being from San Diego loquats are everywhere is it possible that you can chill or do a video on propagating the tree from cuttings? I tried but I think the cuttings dried-out but could you please do video I'd appreciate that I missed the fruit, and now I'm in Las Vegas and I haven't seen any, and I don't think it's because they can't grow here it's just there are no trees here I've seen them in Phoenix but just not here thank you.

looks yummy I'm in zone 10b, would that tree thrive in that zone? I have a very small yard but I currently have a fruit salad tree, fig tree, mango tree, pomegranate tree, banana, fingerling lime, orange, lemon, avocado, mulberry, and apricot tree wow that sounds like a lot! I have a side yard where I'm going to move my berry bushes and plant more fruiting trees! I just can't stop!

I found a loquat tree in a town we were visiting a few years ago. Had to try it and brought seeds home and planted them. After about a year of babying it my husband thought it was time to put it outside. Its been struggling for the last couple of years, still hasn't gotten over a foot tall. I'd love to have another. If you decide to sale seeds from yours I'd love to buy some.

I belive every child in China has been given syrup made from loquat leaves to soothing the cough. Other fruit trees i really want to see you try are Longan(fragon's eye) and Lychee, they are both beautiful tropical fruit with unique aroma. Another funny thing is the most commen way Longan are preserved - take the pit out and dry - is exacly same as how you store loquats.

Hi Eric, My name is Vickie and I live in Orange, CA (zone 10a. I've been growing my own food on a simple neighborhood lot with a 1963 house since 2012. You continually educate and inspire me on my self-sufficiency journey. I'd love the loquat tree but more importantly, I just wanted to say thank you for your helpful videos. You're a wonderful teacher

I had a loquat tree here in Louisiana, but it suddenly died. A seed on the ground sprouted and Junior was about six feet tall when it, too, suddenly died. The whole tree just drooped and turned brown; from heathy to totally dead in 48 hours. I can t help but wonder if it wasn t something damaging the roots. Does anyone have an idea?

mygrandma has one in her front yard
she's a little too old to pick all of them herself, but she says when all the fruit is ripe, all the chinesemoms come out of the woodwork to ask if they can have some. she always lets them take as much as they want as long as they pick some for her too. it's a good thing she's got going on

Omg they re called loquats in English! I live in canada and i had never seen those fruits before i spent a spring in Barcelona. I remember thinking it was the best fruit i ever had. I ve only had them there and in Portugal also in the spring. That was many moons ago. Now i really would love some! Too bad we can t get them here.

We are in South Florida (zone 10B. My loquat has grown tremendously! It bears fruit in February or March here. I have made jam, bbq sauce, dehydrated and just blended the pulp for smoothies. Getting the pits out is time consuming in the bulk we have. The tree is really gorgeous. I liken the flavor to more tart than sweet.

first 100! I'll comment anyway. Love your stuff man. I never thought I would get into gardening but I built my wife some raised garden beds for mother's day so her and my daughter can grow flowers and fruit, and I've fallen into it HARD. I'm also in San Diego so it's amazing to see the possibilities of what I can grow here

From where I live, they are called pi pa. I don't know the exact variety, but looks almost the same as the champagne variety shown in the video.
I think they're called pi pa because they have a similar shape of pipa, a traditional Chinese musical instrument. Or it could be the other way round

I wish I could have a loquat tree in my small yard, but I live in a trailer park where nobody has a claim to the land around them for planting things. I just want to tell you how much I enjoyed hearing about your experiences with your fruit trees and wish you continued success with your garden.
