I setup hundreds of seed trays for starting my seeds and it'd been a few years since I gardened and I accidentally added diluted tea fertilizer mixed with water to all the trays. Did I just ruin all my hard work? I'm just planting the seeds tonight and wanted the soil to be moist. Considering flushing from the top with a garden hose on the shower setting but then my soil will be wet for some time and probably unusable, was looking to plant seeds tonight.

Question for anyone who has knowledge in this: is lead contamination of your soil mix not a worry when using the hardware cloth? All the hardware cloth I've found comes with a Prop 65 warning, which creeps me out since this is soil I'm using to grow food. Thanks for any wisdom!

Steve, I think you have awesome eyebrows, I wanted to comment on this old video, Borax has boron in it which is very beneficial to the stem structure of new plants. You may already know this, I live in tucson arizona and I usually just grow in my own mulch compost.

Fantastic video. Novice at this but going to make some potting mix this week. Would it be ok to add some well rotted cow manure ( has turned composty over the years) to store bought multi purpose compost along with the perlite or would this be too rich?

I think any mix that contains compost is hard for people to replicate because most don't compost and the stuff they sell at stores is a crap shoot! I'm simple 3 parts peat moss to one part vermiculite! Works great.

please mention not to use peat moss, it s harming the planet and there are plenty of alternatives. Perlite takes a lot of energy to process, better not use it neither

Mist that perlite with water to settle the dust! And FYI perlite is chemically inert. its not toxic in the least! Visit us at aztecperlite. com for any questions

That looks more like 1/8th inch hardware cloth to me. I use 1/4 and i end up with bigger chunks in my mix. Not so smooth & uniform but a LOT easier to sift.
