I have used and still have quite a few other brands and types of garden, I call them Clippers. These are my go-to.
Corona FL 3420 loppers
Felco 903 sharpening stone
Corona 3/4 bypass Pruners # 3160
Also Corona 1 bypass # 3180D
For Snippers, I call the fine point Horticultural shears, I have several Japanese manufactured, great little work horses and use them far outside of their predicted range.
BTW I have no affiliation with Corona. I simply have found them to be the best overtime and for me. All of those listed above have been in continual use for 10 years or more. Also by the way the pictured brand above as I right, I have a pair of the bottom black handle cushion grip clipper. I liked it quite a lot but for several reasons prefer the corona design. Have also had the small snippers, worked great loved them, until the latching mechanism breaks.

Ive had my steel Fiskars bypass pruners since abt 1997-98. They are still in fantastic shape as I make sure to clean and sharpen them after every seasons use. I also have had my Fiskars Micro-Tip snips for about 10-11 yrs now and they still cut like hot butter. And those poor souls have been left outside accidentally several times. .
Also, can you show us which veggies would be best to prune? I prune basil, tomatoes and peppers but Ive never touched cucumbers or others.

Great explanation! I really did not know how each of them differed. I would appreciate a little lesson in pruning various ants, when to. when not to. etc. also, I know you were giving a review of this specific company but what brand do you personally like? Fiskars seems to be the go to for most that I watch but, is there another lesser known brand you like and why?

great video. however, I must say that if you have rust on your stainless blade, there are two possibilities. Either it ain't stainless, or that ain't rust. The ONLY time I've seen rust on stainless was on a boat anchor after years in the salty ocean. Stainless simply doesn't rust in other conditions.

The latching mechanism on some wears quite quickly and stops functioning. Some also will cease to stop the pruner from spreading so far that the spring will become unhooked and fall to the ground and possibly be lost. I've found it difficult to find one that will last in those two areas.

I don't know how I pick what I use. My first choice is going to be my newest bypass followed by a ratchet pruner. I don't so much like anvil but I use them when trimming small trees. I have small hands and not that strong so I work with what will do the job with the less effort.

I have started a handyman business and I am learning alot about proper plant care. Yes, I was the guy who used hedge trimmers for all trimming and pruning tasks but I am changing my colors. Thankyou for explaining the differences in hand clippers/ pruners.

This isn't even related to a pruner but I just got my dragon fruit a few weeks ago and I had over watered an Aloe Vera so I clipped them and ground the gel and watered them straight with that and the dragon fruit grew up real quick

Thanks for that great info on pruning shears! I was just in a big box store and looking at them by the register. There were so many choices. Nice to know what job each one does most effectively! Love my ratcheting pruner!

Thank you for explaining the differences. I am being taught by a master gardener on how to prune instead of pulling out the hedge trimmers that butcher the poor plant. Thank you again.
