In My Lifetime
The end of each cutting needs to be sliced and slightly skinned back for the cloning gel to really take. Water should not be introduced to the cloning gel nor the cutting for at least 3 days (wet perlite can be used underneath, roots will speed towards them. Doing this will force the cutting to depend on its own water source (while searching for water) and it will allow you to keep your strongest clone (all clones wont make it. It is actually easier to root a clone under a humidity dome and faster to jump start the the roots by using aeroponics. A humidity dome helps keep the cutting, top half stay alive while rooting. Aeroponics helps you feed and develop your roots faster for transplanting. If you think this way you could bloom and flower quicker! Meaning you could cut your VEG time in half if you develop your roots faster (aeroponic) meaning you would reach your flowering height faster. NOTE: Low Stress Training in Veg will help you in cloning!

Hi. Just watched your video for the first time. I have a few questions (which may have already been asked/answered further down in the comment section so sorry if they have. 1) Did you use a plastic cover/propagator lid to maintain higher humidity around the leaves of the cuttings? 2) Could using a heating mat underneath the reservoir tank have helped to speed up rooting? 3) Likewise for supplemental lighting from for example T5 fluorescents, perhaps would have activated faster growth and therefore speeding up development of roots on the cuttings? Many thanks for any feedback that you can give me!

All of my Basil OG is between 1A and 1E. ) I had built one out of a storage tote. Works great. Costs much less. H2O2 works just fine to keep the system pathogen-free. No PH-ing necessary. Just keep the water clean and cool and do not allow any power interruptions. The gel doesn't do anything to help the cuttings root in this system. It gets rinsed off right away. In any case, you can stick your freshly cut clones into a slice of aloe vera and keep them in the pulp for a couple of minutes before planting them. The results are great.

its not the cost of rooting gell, its where all those hormones end up, in th water supply one way or another, imagine what all of the 1000's of bottles of hormone stuff tipped into nature would do? I dont know, it might be harmless, but seeing as its got warning on it, i dont think so. I, m not preaching, people just dont realise. Your alright mate! Good vid. Cheers.

I also want to start propagating plants for the garden. Like Hydrangea, and a few shrubs. Few problem though, we only have 1 south facing window, animals, no table. Hahahhaha.
May start this early next Spring and do the cuttings outside, right in soil. Cause I dont have a green house. Only a shed, with 0 light.

I've heard that geraniums can be propagated by using leaf cuttings. But, it might take a bit longer using stems.
I thought the demonstration and review was interesting. There are so many things that I'd like to see you try. I imagine, no matter which you try, it would be something that would interest me, as well.

After putting your clear rez in the reservoir, the PH will have most likely shifted. PH is Always the Last thing to be done when mixing for hydro/areoponic becasue FYI and dont forget to watch the EC and PH over time as the plants take up water your EC and PH will fluctuate

If its not too personal Id love to know what you do for a living. Im looking for jobs/ careers in a plant type industry and I know thats generic but Im trying to explore all my options. Great product review and video as always.

I work in a garden center at a hardware store. I take clippings home all the time to propagate them. My coworkers and I call it illegally downloading plants. I have some really nice pots full of purslane though! XD

Yo why do you folks keep telling people to use cloning gel in a aeroponic cloner? It does nothing but wash off the moment the water hits. You do not need gel with ez cloners. If you want the put nutes in the water

That's really cool. I've had good luck propagating geraniums, actually pelargoniums, in a jar on my kitchen windowsill in plain tap water. It takes a long while for the roots to develop.

Hi thanks Kevin another fantastic informative video. I had not even heard of this system. I really look forward to your videos, I always learn something new. Take care happy gardening.

Good info there. I know this is an older vid but wanted to say that Rosemary roots very easily for me in just plain water on the window sill. May be faster in your system tho. TFS

I would like to see hosta cloning/propogation using aeroponics. There is a ton of video and videos for cuttings, but nothing more advanced. Other perennials would be nice too.

You should those glasses for colorblindness, try all sorts of random plants, I hope to try propagating nepenthes ventricosa, a carnivorous plant, pitcher plant, by aeroponics.
