Yes, you heard that right. I'm actually going to be growing hemp for the first time! I'm using the California Lightworks SolarXtreme 500, which they sent out for me to review. For the price point, it's a full spectrum COB LED that's made right here in America, backed by a rock solid warranty. LED grow lights can be a confusing topic (see my other video on how to evaluate them, so hopefully this helps you make a bit more sense of what makes a light GOOD or BAD. California Lightworks has offered 15% off the SolarXtreme 500 with the code EG15

$450 bucks? For that? LOL. For that kind of money I would expect a whole lot more than some tiny thing hovering a foot from my plants. The light I have now you could tan under in a grow tent 6ft x 6ft and it was $500. Just make sure they use Cree LEDS or COBs, a good driver like mean well and good fans. The biggest failure with lights is the maker goes cheap on the cooling fans and they toast. then the LED pop. Or they use a cheap driver that can't handle moisture and it flambes itself. I'm not even sure if those COBs in that Lightworks light are made for horticulture.
i didn't see them on the Cree list for growing.

Looks like Im late to the party. Im shopping for 2 LEDs, on a budget so buying 1 at a time. Looking for optimal 5x5 coverage with no tent. Ive decided on this light, electric sky 300, or a timber. What is your opinion on this light, which will be 20% off black friday

Hey Kevin, how did this grow turn out for you? Now that it's becoming more widely accepted/legal, I would love seeing you explore the realm of hemp growing more (specifically organic, You would help out a lot of novice growers: ) I really dig your content!

I have been studying these LED grow lights for a couple years now and this California Lightworks Solar Xtreme and the UVB add on's for flowering seems to keep coming in at the top of the list. I will try one!

Just wait until you get a problem with the light clw are a nightmare customer service is really bad and they still haven't sorted my faulty lights out after 8 months stay away

Id suggest a 6 Max-Fan for ventilation. Theyre adjustable speed so you are not drawing a lot of power for low heat lights such as leds and during times of cooler weather.

I prefer the Chinese knock-off cobs/quantum boards anytime. Cxb3590 + Mean Well or Samsung lm301h + Mean Well will most likely crush this one.

Looking forward to following your progress. At some point Id like to try and grow hemp. The challenge alone, will be fun and interesting.
