Would love a cocktail garden series! Appreciate the H in herb too; )
I've chosen to grow herbs outdoors and indoors this year.
Pineapple sage is definitely my favourite. It smells amazing!
Also have blackcurrant sage, orange thyme. Lemon thyme, orange mint, chocolate mint, lime mint, strawberry mint, lemon balm, lemon verbena. So I need to find some cocktails to make!
And a whole load of other ones. I read that Vietnamese coriander (cilantro) hardly flowers and perennial instead of annual like the normal one and a little spicy for my Mexican food so trying that this year.

My husband makes fancy cocktails, and requested I plant purple coneflower and anise hyssop this year. I don't know if anise hyssop is local, but even the seedlings have been fragrant and it's very pretty.
I don't drink alcohol, but I love making infused syrups for Italian sodas - some of my favorites so far have been rose, nasturtium, and cucumber.
Hubs and I grow a lot of mint, and he makes creme de menthe out of it for cocktails! So far his favorite mint to use has been chocolate mint but I've got plans to expand my mint varieties next season.

LOVE that you integrated natives, herbs, and cocktails in one video! I love infusing with hot peppers too. I also really appreciate showing the native plants website as I've been looking for a resources like this. 2 questions: 1) Is lemongrass invasive? I notice you are growing it in your bed. Do you have to watch its spread or is it pretty well-behaved. 2) Your videos have made me covet African Blue Basil. Any tips on where to get cuttings online?

One of my recent favorites- made up an orange/lime thyme G&T
1. 5 shots fav gin
1/2 lime fresh squeezed
1/2 orange fresh squeezed
1 sprig each orange and lime thyme, lightly muddles
Top off with fav tonic (mine is Fever Tree) and an extra sprig of thyme
DELICIOUS. Esp in the heat
Also little tip- you can use honey instead of sugar in simple syrups for a slightly healthier feel. Love the flavor better too

Look into shrub drinks! sugar, fruit, vinegar, and herbs! Great with just seltzer water or spiked. I'm going to try blackberry lavender shrubs when the berries start coming in this year!
Drunken botanist is a great book! The author and her husband own a bookstore back in my home town, which made me realize, today, that she sold me a House of Leaves years ago. Small world: D

You should try melon sage. It is a cultivar of pineapple sage that smells melony. Another herb that isn't found very often is lime balm. Not to mention about 300 different flavors and cultivars of mint from lemon, orange or lime to berries and cream, strawberry or blackberry to lavender mint or basil mint to about 50 kinds of spearmint. Yummm.

We grow all of these in our garden in Canada (zone 3/4! Can not keep enough lemongrass going though - our dogs LOVE to eat the leaves! If its anywhere near dog level they will mow it down. Always have to have a couple pots of lemongrass and parsley in rotation for them to munch on! Oh and pineapple sage is amazing on chicken!

Cocktail series YES! Would love your take on a moscow mule with a fresh ginger something and mint. I make mine with ginger beer but am always wanting a bit more bite. I've been using pineapple mint lately too. Would be fun to see what you come up with to help me branch out from my one little cocktail: -)

I had one question about square foot gardening
Is it just for small space garden bed or can it be used in the fields also?
According to square foot gardening aubergines are 1 per square foot but where I live the plants get soo big in the ground that foliage takes 4 square foot of space

I am absolutely loving the fragrance that comes from the pineapple sage! It really is pineapple unlike some other herbs that identify as fruit flavored herbs it actually does taste like pineapple!
Apple mint mojitos are so good.

Lovage stems are hollow and make great Bloody Mary straws. The bees love the flowers and the dried herb keep forever for winter soups! Blue vervain leaves and lemon balm are also amazing in cocktails.

I have peppermint, pineapple sage, lavender, lemon balm for teas and cocktails. I have had no luck with growing cilantro but I do like the cilantro absolut vodka and made so delicious drinks with that.
