Plant Haul Garden Answer Beverly: Hello
Happy New Year. I love All your Videos. I wanted some help with our beautiful Ficas tree. We have had it for over 25 years! The last 5 years it has been in our home brought from my husbands office. He retired. So all of a sudden I have noticed leaves dropping. Worst part is it has been attacked by ants! I have seen these tiny worm like critters in the soil which I suspect the darn ants loving and feasting on this poor plant. Its still in very good shape and tall. Can you give me some suggestions on first of all ridding the ants and these weird looking worms. They look like tiny sentapids when touched they curl up like worms do. Anyways I love you and I know you can help us.
Sincerely
Beverly and Tal

I absolutely LOVE your triple urn challenge videos! As a viewer, watching your arrangements progress through the seasons was fantastic and fun to watch. The urn challenge videos would be a great lesson to demonstrate how we can all pick or signature containers for our homes and gardens and use them for multitudes of unique projects: from fairy gardens (like how you repurposed the urn for the hobbit garden) as well as for table centerpieces, fountains, and SO many more wonderfully creative projects. You seriously inspire me so much though, so I am very much looking forward to whatever you put together for your presentation.

These plants are amazing! For the talk thing you should do a wee bit on using objects that aren't plants in containers (does that make sense. You're always so creative using things like branches or ornaments in arrangement that I would never think of doing! You could then incorporate it into the idea of recyling and repurposing, for example; you could use a trough from a farm and turn it into an outdoor fairy farm. Something like that, Idk really, just thinking off the top of my head! Best of luck planning the talk and good luck with your next projects! Finn

How about repurposing a broken terracotta pot for a fairy garden or succulents arrangement for your presentation in March? I believe you haven't done a video like this before.
I don't know, it just popped up in my head because I have one broken pot in my yard and I was going to do something about it. It's about 8 in diameter and about 10 tall so I wouldn't normally plant succulents in it. But since it has a big open crack from top to the bottom, I might try. :) Anyway, it's just a thought ) Hope it's helpful.
Good luck with your project in March!

This video inspired me to go out and look for some new houseplants today. I found a low bowl planted with succulents, most of which were in pretty terrible shape for 5 bucks. The soil was covered with rock and obviously sprayed with something to make it all stick together which is why I'm sure the plants aren't doing great. I got some new soil and a few more succulents for a buck each, and I'm going to take it apart and re-pot everything tonight: ) For your outdoor project I thought of an herb fairy garden or your kokedama.

I have one similar to the ones you had around 7: 20 ish the only difference is mine is pink. I have had this one for over a year and seems to thrive in the warmer months considering I live in NJ. I was hoping you have a recommendation of plants that work well with that one. I'm thinking of starting a inside garden for succulents and cacti so it would be great if you could help out. Ps I know the comment is late but hopefully you will see it!

Hi Laura! For your outdoor project, I have a few ideas.
1. Vertical succulent (or houseplant) planter demo in BrightGreen Vertical Planter.
2. Sedum ground cover tiles and rock garden (stonecrop sedum is frost hardy in many zones)
3. Evergreen (Arborvitae, Juniper, Boxwoods, Cedar) container arrangements combined with pretty ground cover plants such as sedum, heather, ivy.
Best of luck! You'll be great! :)

What about a presentation on vertical container gardening for people that don't have a lot of space? I made a vertical vegetable/herb garden out of an old pallet, and I so would've appreciated a walk through on a different way to put it all together. It also would've been helpful to know what types of plants would do best towards the bottom (more shade) or the top (more sun and space.

I agree with several people on here - re-purposing an older arrangement or propagating plants from cuttings or with succulent leaves. As far as public speaking, just be yourself. Even with the very few mistakes that you make in your videos, it makes you even more endearing because you are humble. I think a lot of people appreciate that about you in your videos, including myself. Good luck!
