How to Plant Potatoes! Garden Answer MTurker: 1: 32 She picks up a golf ball sized potato with one eye, then sets it down and selects a potato sized like a tennis ball and cuts it into quarters with a good eye on each piece. 1: 49 1: 55 she uses her hands to make trenches across the length of the rectangular planter. Then she places the potatoes or potato pieces in the rows, and covers the rows of potatoes back up with the earth she had pushed aside to make the trenches, leveling the soil evenly and gently patting it flat. 2: 20 As she talks she sits and brushes her hand idly across the top of the soil.

1: 34. The gardner is holding a potato about the size of a large egg as an example of a potato that can planted without cutting it up. Next, she holds up a potato about the size of grapefruit as an example of one you can cut into pieces to plant, making sure there is at least one potato eye on each piece. She points to the eye of the potato. The eye is indented spot on the potato with a dry nub sticking out.

Great video!
We've grown them successfully in buckets, raised beds, and the ground. Potatoes are one of those crops that we grow every year, and there is nothing in the world like a fresh, homegrown potato.
For anyone who came here curious about doing it, I highly recommend you do it. They don't take much work at all, and the end product is totally worth it.

: 53 that cat is thinks this is his litter box. After jumping up and sniffing around the edge of the raised wooden planter box, he is now walking along the edge while she is explaining how to prepare the soil with the bag if dirt and fertilizer on the ground near the planter box where the potatoes will be planted.

: 50 she is really working that dirt and fluffing is it really good with the pitchfork. It's hilarious how the cat just jumped up into the box and is sifting through the dirt with her out of nowhere. The orange cat with white stripes is stealing the show from her.

2: 20 you want to dig trenches and then place the potatoes eyes down about a hand length apart. Then you cover up the potatoes with the soil and once covered the planter should look like when you first started, a nice and even bed.

1: 06 the Organic biotone fertilizer if in a large bag on the ground then she raises the bag to work the fertilizer as she sprinkles the fertilizer on over the dirt in the box to incorporate it fully into the dirt and mix thoroughly

0: 29 She is sitting on the ground by a raised planter. Beside her is a tray of potatoes, and she is touching the dark, loamy soil with her bare hand. Behind her is a pitchfork and the bag the organic gardening soil came from.

Is there a 'to late ' period of time in spring to start?
Are these potatoes already grown potatoes, that are being used to grow more?

Your closed captioned is not working, I turned it on while I was watching no caption. I tried my best to see how you do it and what kind of soils are you using plus what kind of woods are you using?
