Irrigation Maintenance & Late Rhubarb Harvest! Garden Answer Kippenhill: Hello, I am a Master Gardener in Florida and work at our plant clinic where homeowners come in to have their questions/problems addressed for their home landscape. I enjoy your videos and even though we are in totally different gardening conditions I have learned from you. I just would like to suggest that you mention the area agricultural centers as a resource for help and information. Many live in areas where the only garden centers are the big box stores where the knowledge of the employees varies. Master Gardeners are highly trained, led by a horticulturist and if they can't get you an answer the Ag centers are affiliated with universities where they can send samples and get information. They also have a wealth of handouts on any subject regarding gardening to give to homeowners. Sorry this got so long. just basically wanted to put in a plug for Ag centers as an option for some.

I love your printed out sheets of what needed to be watered while you were gone. I bet your sister-in-law and mom liked that too. They would have felt bad if they had missed anything. I'm a list maker also. I love to be able to check things off when I get them done. it keeps me motivated and moving forward with my chores. Doesn't it feel good to be home again. Sweet little Benjamin was so happy to see you, thanks for sharing that sweet moment with us. Your kitties missed you guys too, maybe one of them gave you the welcome home gift of that dead snake.

Thank you SO MUCH for showing how to store rhubarb (all the steps. You just answered every one of my questions. :-) Thanks guys!
And your garden looks spectacular. Remember: there is just the one of you working on your garden full-time, versus the many who work on the Mackinac Island gardens. Your garden looks utterly gorgeous in all the videos, and you should be really proud - both of you, of just how wonderful your garden is. It looks like a State Botanical Garden. :-)

Your discovery reminded me of all the houseplants my mom used to have. She was promoted to heaven in 1998. She used to have a cartoon on her refrigerator that showed a wife watering her plants. Her hair is standing up and she looks shocked but you don't know why. The husband is sitting in his recliner with a newspaper in front of his face. The cartoon bubble is over his head where he says, If you live in a jungle, you should expect snakes.

I saw a snake skin in my garden today and then an actual garter snake slithering along the strip at the bottom of my garage door which made me want to vomit. Now I want to move and or never garden again! Extreme reaction? Possibly, but don't judge. I can't believe how calm you were. As a child I saw one on one side of our house and never walked that path again.

Stay away from rhubarb and spinach if you create kidney stones. Also stay away from root beer and Coca-Cola any of those dark sodas, also create kidney stones been there and done that and had to learn the hard way. I just love rhubarb pie, one of my favorites especially with strawberries. But I have memories and I Won't Go Back. Thank you for sharing

The snake cracked me up! I had sent my husband out to my garden to pick some tomatoes and I was watching him to make sure he picked the right ones when he suddenly jumped back about 4 feet! There was a bull snake right in the path, needless to say I had to pick them because he wasnt going back in

Is there a limit to how many tap ins to an existing drip line before affecting the water pressure? What is the maximum length of main drip tube can I have stretched out throughout my garden beds and is it better to use the 1/2 inch drip line than the 1/4 inch one to weave throughout the garden?
