The Evolution of Our Front Flower Beds! Garden Answer Tricia: Thank you for this video. I've often thought it would be helpful to see the evolution of a garden plan over the years, compiled in one video, with voice over. (A good option for hot days or third and 'fourth' trimester, perhaps) For example, the evolution of the west side garden, or the vegetable garden. Something to keep in mind going forward on the new property, at least, to get the same angle shots year-to-year for comparison purposes. It might help people realize that even on a big scale, things don't happen at once and take several years to develop and plants to mature.

Laura - I too have unruly Miscanthus in our backyard - I have two of them in fact - in a corner area, of our backyard. We actually have a total of 15 grasses planted in that this niche along with catmint and black eyed susan. We absolutely love our perennial grasses but the miscanthus is getting too large for the space and it started to intrude on our other grasses that grow in clump form. Was hoping you'd have suggestions on ways to divide it down to a more manageable size?

Wow! Such an abundence.
I work in a nursery.
I watch elderly ladies that come in and walk around, slowly.
They want so many things. But their fixed incomes demand they choose very carefully. They tend to leave with 4 or 5 pots which they imagine will bring satisfaction.
It pulls at my heart strings. And causes me to wish that I could just load their carts and send them home with a smile.

Now that my daughter and my friends children are all getting into their teens, I am very over little kids and generally find them to be annoying (horrible to admit, but Benjamin is one seriously cute kid! He karate chopped a window of sunshine into my cold soul when it comes to the littles! Great video with the flashbacks and progression. Thank you for all of the content you share with us.

At Minute 10: 20 I just LOVE how Benjamin is helping you show the Miscanthus. He seems to be helping you 'present' it to the camera. Then he gets distracted and begins to play with it! Soon he will begin doing plant videos on his own, after watching how you have been doing them. Imagine how much plant information his little-boy mind has already absorbed.

Wow. your front flower beds look so glorious now. thanks to the lookback. it's being 4. 5yrs? goodness, I started watching you at your old house. . its like your guys have a full-time gardener to tend and grow your landscape. I'm wondering. if you didn't change out the plants yearly, can the plants last more than 1 yr?

Your gardens are the most beautiful I've seen. I love them. I planted some proven winner hydrangeas this yeah ( a invinceaball ruby and a blush one. How much do you cut them back in the fall/spring? In my other hydrangeas I do one big cut back in March usually. I plant to get a limelight too to add to the front!

Just want to tell you that you have a very very nice garden. I am so inspired by your work in your garden. I love gardening too and I pretty much did all my yard by myself. Well, with a little help from my husband. Thanks for inspiring your viewers on doing projects that make their homes more beautiful.
