New Boxwoods & Planting Projects Garden Answer Shirley: The purple combo is perfect, your roses are so pretty, I gave up on roses due to Japanese beetles. You are so inspiring that I am redoing my yard, with more planning this time. Daylillies and peonies are out of control so time to move them around and you have sparked an interest in hostas. They will make an interesting border, using variegated and solid leafed varieties.
Almost forgot, the local nursery I go to has a very unusual coleus called Coleus Kong, it would be incredible in your garden.

Beautiful pots. Loved all the flowers you picked to put together. Watching this older video was fun. I got to see how far your garden has come in just 2 seasons. I love boxwoods also. I think they are a shrub that keeps its shape well and stays dense. No major branching out. Glad these video's are in the mix so I can see what a major difference you and Aaron have made. See you in the next one!

Speaking of roses, what pretty perennials do you recommend planting with/around/beneath roses for a zone 9a? I'm planning my rose garden (love roses) to go along my back fence but don't want it to look barren between plants or in non-blooming seasons. I want to do the cottage garden look but also don't want to crowd them too much?

I love the purple! Funny enough I just watched this today & during the July 4th backpacking trip I continuously (probably to the point of annoying the hubby) talked about the purple, blue & white garden I want to plant up. Thank you! You really do encourage the creative juices to flow for our own gardens!

YAY FOR LONG VIDEO! I'm excited to hear that those are perennials. I've been waiting for that hedge to come out! I'm so glad you decided to keep it hedgy. This video also had a more interesting view of the planting; ) Love love love the rose garden! If you ever do anything with it, please show us!

Can you show at least one real time clip of how you plant and tips how to fill in the plants, then fast forward through the rest. its a lot of talking and face in the camera but I want to see how you pull plants out and how you put them in. Lots of learners here, I'm sure feel the same.

Wow you are amazing. ok I have to ask do you drink coffee? You have so much energy. I really like the idea of those large plants by your garage doors I wonder if I can plant something like those where I live. Whats a flower I can grow with deer around? Thank you: )

I like most of your subjects, please more on combining plants in containers for long term. Large planters, maybe three plants per, plants that attract butterflies. And another planter just for Hummingbirds and one for honeybees. This is your homework. Love ya girl

You said Pansiola is a perennial. Do you mean in your neck of the woods? In the Proven Winner website they are marked as an annual. And you took them from full sun to shade area? Interesting. I'm in zone 6 I know you are in zone 5. Thanks enjoyed the video.

You've made me decide to revive my rose garden that I neglected due to a busy work schedule. I'll wait until I can reorder bare root roses this year. I enjoyed your vlog so much! Thanks to you and your husband Aaron for sharing your passion in gardening.
