Shade Plant Inspiration Garden Answer Epetra: We have lamium (purple deadnettle) all over our yard and they smell so bad whenever I cut the grass.
I don't think people give enough credit to oxalis plants ( the clover look alike. They bloom pretty much all of spring to Autumn and they are edible. though eating too much can give you kidney stones.
That said, they produce tubers that will probably cause problems should you want to remove them as they come back easily.

Ok, who's the wiseacre that picked Dislike? No way! Lol
We have several areas that are in the shade. These plants will be perfect in the shady places. It's been near impossible to find Coleus in the nurseries. So, what I think we're gonna do is order from PROVEN WINNER. Thx again for your inspirational projects! Have a wonderful day!

It's very pretty! I love your ideas with shade options, particularly since my yard continues to get more shade as the years go by. I am curious why you have used two different fertilizers for what you planted. I realize that your have annuals and perennials, but why does that make a difference in their nutrient needs? Thanks.

Laura, love your beautiful shade video! We live in Ohio where it's more humid and rains a lot. Unfortunately this brings lots of slugs to my shade gardens: ( Do you have slug problems in your shade gardens? And what would you recommend using to kill or deter them? They feast on my hosta and almost any other plant: (

The lamium really spreads. You can space that very far apart. It is a sure fire winner. It keeps blooming all season, and comes back reliably every year. It can be pulled up easily if it creeps into areas, or around other plants were you don't want it to go.
