Trying out King Tut Garden Answer WithLoveSonyaB: Well, everything in my garden is new! My garden has been empty since I bought my house (6 years ago! It was a fixer upper, and since I've been doing it alone, that left the garden until later. anyway, thanks to you, I decided not to hire a landscape architect and do it myself. I'm soooo glad I did! I have 2 water oaks in the front yard, and 1 large one in the back, so I new I needed something that could grow in mostly shade, but really warm conditions (New Orleans. I now have a garden full of 4 different types of hydrangeas and coleus plants, and it's all because of your videos! Oh, and I got the hydrangeas for $5 on clearance at Lowe's! Ha! Oh, and I dug up 3 boxwoods and transplanted them to the side of my house with 3 rose bushes which are in barrel pots (due to tree roots. ALL of this is because of your videos! I'm soooo thankful!

Thank you. Usually I would ask my mom about plants and flowers but she passed in September of 2016. This has been such a difficult time in my life and watching your videos has helped me so much. She LOVED, LOVED plants and flowers so much. So much so that she would go to Lowes for fun to check out the flowers lol. I had a garden before but now I have added so much more to it, kind of as a memorial to her. Of course with her favorite the Calla Lilly, but I don't know how I am keeping it alive but it's a happy camper; ) Your videos have helped me when I run into trouble with gardening. Watching other videos is like watching paint dry but your explanations and suggestions are right to the point. Thank you again.

Laura, you and Dexter are just too adorable together.
I am trying my hand at vegetable gardening for the 1st time since I moved to this area and it has been hit and miss. I think the soil is a factor but tomatoes love it but I am struggling with my lettuce and herbs. Anything delicate seems to get beaten down by the sun or by the soil itself. I am testing it now to see if I need to add an amendment or if I should just switch to raised beds next season.

Here in central RI I've been hunting down the vista bubblegum and everyone is sold out! The nursery I go to said they've really been picking up popularity over the past few years. I hoprehopre I get to meet you at the Newport Flower Show! Rosecliff is the most gorgeous venue. Kitt

Your fur son loves his mommy. I had a Ginger boy and he followed me in the garden. He is no longer with me but what a good time we had together. Enjoy your sweet boy! I am thinking of planting a butterfly bush. I heard from local nursery they have a non invasive kind that does not get huge.

Try adding cut up sponges or a product called soil moist in the hole with the papyrus. Helps to keep the plant roots moist. Healthier and taller plant will be the result. Naturally grows along the Nile in and along the shore. Been growing this plant for the last 6 years this way.

I planted a King Tut in my garden for the first time this year, too! I have a small Japanese maple and wanted something else, Asian Inspired looking to plant with it and I just loved the way this grass looked. Very unique and graceful. I wish they were hardy to my zone, though.

I love papyrus. Its a wonderful perennial where I live (zone 9) and its beautiful in front of columns or on the edge of a pond. It grows at a slower rate here although we have soggy ground and dont get cold often. To the size in the picture it would take maybe 3 years for me.

Looks lovely. My experience with the umbrella plant 'baby tut' is that their roots run on the ground in hard clumps and can be very difficult to remove and contain. So watch out for this. I can only assume King Tut does the same but they are lovely once uou can control them.

Excited about the results. I would really love to see what the area looks like once the King Tuts develop.
I imagine your outdoor living must be spectacular to look at. In fact, I'd probably drive by just
to admire all the gorgeous-ness. P. S. Dexter's a great cat.
