Cut Flower Garden Seed Starting Begins + How I Organize When to Start Seeds! Garden Answer Annette: Hi Laura, I have a roof terrace to grow flowers. How would you go about growing sunflowers in pots and throughs to obtain something harmonius and beautiful even before cutting them. I so enjoy gifting them to my neighbours who only have small balconies, as it brightens a day especially during long lockdown weeks.
Thank you for your helpful answers and encouragements to keep going and trying and start again even after failures. It means a lot to me in my circumstances. :)
Can't wait to see your sweet baby and pray for you and your family to be safe. xx

Hi from Nevada. Just heard you talking about plant toxicity. Specifically about oleanders. I know people think they are highly toxic. They may be to some animals, Just not all. We planted 18, 4 foot oleanders along our fence thinking the rabbits would leave them alone. They did not. They ate them all the night they were planted. I saw no dead rabbits anywhere. Later I bought more and had them in the back sitting up high where rabbits could not reach them. My husband loves oleanders because of their color and fast growth. But for us they are not to be.

Hi Laura! It's so nice that you have the cold frame for planting seeds and the studio for growing them. My husband bought me a small greenhouse, but it's not heated, so I can't use it until it warms up enough to be able to start the seeds. It is nice to have when I buy plants, too, but it's still a tad too cold to plant. Happy Birthday Benjamin! Thank you so much for sharing!

wow I've never even heard of lisianthus. It looks beautiful. Those kales look amazing too! I haven't tried ornamental kales yet. I've already started some herbs, brassicas, celery and onions. I've never thought of using vermiculite that way. Is there a reason you only use it for some things? Are they more susceptible to damping off? I may try that with my tomatoes.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like you are still doing most of your potting and re-potting and things outside despite the nice warm studio. I think you may be a little afraid to make mess in the studio because of how nice it looks. That or you're just really used to planting outside. BTW not hating just observing.

Hi Laura! Thanks for sharing! I have a seed spreadsheet that have formulas to calculate the earliest and latest dates to plant my seeds. I have it sorted on dates so the spreadsheet tells me exactly when to plant. All you have to do is enter your frost dates. Let me know if you'd like a copy: )

Great video! I should create an electronic spreadsheet- you inspire me! Right now, Im using the old notepad and pen method Btw, my husband gave me an indoor grow light set and I cant wait to follow your pointers youve mentioned in this and other videos for starting seeds indoors.

Noticed you didn't use a seed heat mat. When do you need to use it? Also, if a packet of seeds says it needs darkness to germinate, does that mean you have to cover with the seed starting mix or does that mean you don't put the tray under the grow lights? Good luck with baby girl!

I think I goofed. I was excited to try sowing seeds after watching your video using the gallon water bottles so I ordered delphinium seeds. This video makes me think delphinium seeds are more complicated. Will the water bottle method work? Im in zone 7a.
