Planting 3 Gorgeous Clematis!
video description
I'm so bummed they are zone 5 though cause I would love them in my garden, I am zone 4: (
I had a Clematis for years in my garden, it was beautiful and I loved it! When I got it I was told to put it in the shade, so I planted it in the shade of a tree behind my garden. It did so well every year and bloomed like crazy every spring! Then we cut that tree down because it was not in a good spot and was not doing well, it was not planted, but allowed to grow by previous owners, like 80% of our trees. My poor Clematis immediately started struggling and the next year it did not come back: '(
I want another one, the Stand By Me (name) bush Clematis came on my list when I was browsing PW plants on their website. I am so hoping to get my hands on that this year!

Yes those are gorgeous new varieties of clematis and I would hate to even have to choose one color. Now that I know about type 1 2 and 3 I feel much more confident about the clematis that I have. Just like the hydrangeas I try to put them where they can live and grow to their full size. One of my older clematis has already reached the top of an obelisk and has buds on it here in snowy Michigan! I'll take it as a nice gift this year.

The information on the reason you used landscape cloth in the corner where bineweed had been a problem was so helpful! Have had my battles with that weed. Found boiling water poured between the rocks in our walkway, pulling them as deep as I could get the root, then planting elfin thyme helped. Always find a nugget that helps or inspires me in your videos - thank you!

I love Clematis. I've watched so many of your videos and also that of Erin 'The Impatient Gardener' that I have for a long time pronounced it the same way as you two do. I'm always Nursery shopping with my Mum and she still uses the Australian pronunciation. Half the time I don't remember what's the Australian pronunciation and what's not anymore lol x

Such pretty Clematis! I can't wait to see them grow. I am trying to find a vine that will do well in my Zone 9 shade garden which does get dappled sun throughout various times of the day. I wonder how Clematis would do or maybe honeysuckle? Hmmm. I want to train it over our patio door entrance so the vines would be in containers. Fun stuff!

Thank you for another great video. I just love Russell and of course hearing the Eurasian doves in the background, reminds me of our house! We're in central Nevada and we get such strong winds. I have a clematis that I got at lowe's on clearance but I have been reluctant to plant it because I'm afraid it will get annihilated.

Just a tip. Always plant Clematis 5 to 6 inches lover than the brancing. This makes them hardier in winter. You have about the same climate as me. The temprature in witers that is. It makes them stronger for cold spells. The ones you planted are so hardy that it is not very nessisary. I just do it to all of them. :)

it wouldve been helpful to include what types of soil they like (balmy, fertilizers, pH, drainage, etc. as well as how they do if planted in contianers with blueberries. Also, what waes the bag of fertilizer that you used, and what are some alternate brands if Espoma isn't available?

Love the clematis! Question-have you ever sliced right through the drip hose? I can see myself forgetting where it is and cutting it in half. Is the drip hose damaged easily? I would like to put some in around some roses and tall phlox to cut down in the powdery mildew.

Drip irrigation. this not possible without extensive cost for almost all of our beds away from the house
Do you have an alternative. Maybe a previous video I missed
Offering zones for this plant much appreciated. Will try these this year. They are beautiful
