How to plant Gladiolas with Northlawn Flower Farm handmade: I live in zone 5 and never dig them up and they come back every year faithfully. I bought probably 25 bags with 4-6 in each bag and they all have came back, from the dollar tree. I buy several more each year to add to them. I also bought freesia, sunflowers cornflower daisies ran oculus and soo much more! They have a huge flower and vegetable seed collection plus several bulbs and corms to choose from and they all are just as good as anywhere else! You got to get there early like now though because they sell out fast! Promise you will save so much money. Plus Lowes sells several daliahs, lillies and other bulbs pretty cheap to. Check after Easter in the clearance and they always have tons of the Lilly-s that-s leftover.

When I moved into my new home I noticed spiky green foliage coming up in the garden, but nothing ever happened. So I started pulling them thinking it was a strange grassy weed. After some gardening experience I felt certain they were something, so I let them be and soon noticed the flower stalks emerging! This is the third year I am able to enjoy my surprise gladiolus and I get so excited to see them bloom! Mine are yellow with a pop of red orange. Zone 8.

As a kid I remember the field the farmers would plant gladiola where everyone could just come and cut. I was back in Germany 2019 and they still do that there is a little box now on a wood post where you should pay for what you cut. It is still more Imke a trust thing. Some people -steal- and others put in all their change from the wallet. I love Germany -

Love this video. Helpful tips. Thank you. Do you recommend planting them at the front of a flower bed? I have a bed with lavendar hedge. Can I plant in between or behind the lavendar? Sun comes from the front late morning and from the side after noon. Thanks

Look at that gorgeous workable soil! Where I live it-s just clay clay clay, and when I saw your trowel drop in so effortlessly I was jealous! Thanks for sharing all your tips, you have become my go-to guide for zone 6 gardening.

Gladiolas are my mother-in-law's favorite and I didn't realize you could plant in spring! We are going to plant some! Our season doesn't start until mid-May so it gives me time to order from Amazon! Ha ha!

Thank you for the tip about Aldi! I went there and they had white, pink blend and red --- my overall budget has to be spread many ways, so I just bought 2 bags, but what a great price! I love the white!

Question: When do you plant your last succession for the year? I just got some corms on clearance and I'm wondering if it's too late to plant them this year. (Zone 6)

FYI - In zone 8 these bulbs multiply like crazy and you never really get rid of them. Invasive in my garden.
