It's time to harvest lots of flowers for drying! Over the next few weeks my drying racks will fill up with sages, celosias, hydrangeas, strawflower, amaranth, and more! I use these flowers for crafting and to decorate my annual dried flower Christmas tree - Lambs Ear Ornament- Everlastings by Bex Partridge

Danelle, use bird netting to cover the bed. We have lots of squirrels, birds and chipmunks in our yard and in order for me to keep them out of my sowed seeds beds, bird netting is a must. It's super simple, just lay the netting over the top(let it hang over a bit) and hold it in place with tall plant support stakes. You can adjust the netting as the seedlings grow, if needed. And then roll it up early spring and reuse for the next season. I've been doing this for years on my raised beds with success(and absolutely no accidental entanglements. Even the raccoons stay away from the netted beds! Thank you for this video. I really enjoyed the tutorial!

Really looking forward to seeing the Cardinal ornaments, sounds interesting. I noticed I have some new blooms on 2 of my mop head Hydrangeas, I'm zone 7, but honestly they should bump us to 8. Also expecting a ton of rain, seems like we all are over the coming days. If you had time to search what may be going on with the Monarch, please do tell, I've had bees I think drunk on the Hummingbird feeder.

Your garden looks amazing for late Oct Danielle. Was sad to see the Monarch - I saw my first 2 this morning here in my NZ garden which is also humming with bees all over the phacelia and poppies. I simply can't wait to see your Christmas trees! You are so talented and artistic. Thanks so much for all the drying information.

I had a question about your big leaf hydrangeas. Do you ever have problems with them not blooming? Do you have any suggestions on how to make them bloom more. I have my suspicions that it might be not enough sun. Or maybe they need more fertilizer? Any suggestions would be very helpful thank you.

Hi
Everything is lovely!
Danielle please help me. I-m so confused and new to all this.
could you please tell me when you started your seedlings? Did you start them indoors? If so, when did you transplant them outdoors. Or did you start the seeds outdoors? And When?
Tia

Ambush bugs! They-re camouflaged and hard to find but the eat our bees and butterflies by sucking them dry. They-re left dead sitting on the flowers. I started picking all the ambush bugs and putting them into a bucket of soapy water with the Japanese beetles. It-s heartbreaking!

Beautiful flowers, love your garden at all times of the year! I'm really looking forward to seeing all the dried flower Christmas trees, especially the cardinal one since they are my favorite bird. And of course, it's always a joy to see Grace make an appearance. ---

As a monarch raiser for years I'd recommend bringing her in for several hours. warm her up good and release her.
I'm probably too late for the advise this time. but some warmth will give her a good jump start to get moving south -

Your garden is just so beautiful and you are a wealth of knowledge. I always make sure to watch your new videos at least twice to absorb all the advice. Also LOVED the outro with Gracie! You should feature her in EVERY video!

It's been so weirdly warm, I'm wondering if the monarch was fooled into lingering too long and now hasn't been stunned by the chillier weather? I have to say that this has to be one of the warmest falls that I can remember.

How beautiful this season is gor your garden. If only it could stay like this all fall. Im interested to see more of how you dry certain different flowers. When i pick celosia seeds go everywhere and it turns brown.

Your garden is still so beautiful. I-m looking forward seeing your dried flowers and Xmas trees. I have learned so much from you this season. My garden is very much expanding in size and variety thanks to your tips.

Thanks you, i wish to find some mexican bush sage in canada! Question: I have a few dusty miller in my garden, they will be beautiful a few week with the frost. But should I cut a few to dry them? (Head down)

I had no idea so many flowers dried well!
I had a bee just like your monarch but I brought it in the house because I thought it was dead. but it's legs started moving! So I put him back outside

As much as I could find online and remember school studies, the butterfly was okay, otherwise it couldn't hold on, in that half upside-down position, just went into dormancy. - Greetings, Judit

Great video. Is there a good way to propagate the Berggarten sage? I have one plant in my herb garden and really love it. It looks good all year. Your edging with the sage is stunning.

Everything looks wonderful! I love the statue of Saint Francis in the garden. Perhaps that butterfly is stuck somehow you might want to go and investigate. -
