True story! My in-laws planted daffodils in 1978 on their new property and put them in the wrong spot (the layout of the house changed) but they-re still going strong, every spring! They could definitely benefit from dividing, but they-ve lived with absolutely no care whatsoever. They-re out of the way and hard to notice so I might dig them up and add them to my developing meadow, which is more of a focal area. Oh and species tulips are absolutely amazing. Especially the -candlestick- types. I-ve added more this fall.

I have one more bag of daffodils left to plant and have been struggling to find a place. There is an edge to my property that is shade in summer but since the trees are deciduous I think a naturalized area might work. My neighbor just had a fieldstone wall put in near the woods that would be perfect for them. I think I will do some in both areas and share the spring happiness. Thanks for the inspiration.

I can't wait to see what happens next spring! I now around my daffodils until the first week in June, but then I must cut them. What I've noticed over the last 25 years or so of planting 100 bulbs pretty much every year is that after awhile the older bulbs do tend to lose a lot of their pigment, but they still come back - White Flower Farm offers a good mix for naturalizing called The Works -

i have a bunch of daffodils to plant this fall. i appreciate you addressing how long to leave the foliage up to feed the bulb, which means i need to be really careful about where i plant them -- maybe between my daylilies, and in my annual bed around the mailbox, and maybe under my giant oak that won't really be leafing out much yet.

Thanks for sharing, I'm thinking to do the same on the strip area along the side walk in front of my house, that area have tons of cosmos pop up late in the spring and will flower late summer to early fall, it will be wonderful if I can have daffodils blooming in early spring at the same area, so we will have flower for three seasons.

I-m adding 200 ipheon to my front yard this year after having planted 100 each year for the past 2 years. Now you-ve got me thinking about what else I can throw out there! I love the idea of a naturalized lawn. The whole mowing thing is the problem-.

I got a ready made mix of early mid late bloomers. Planted 110 last year and another 125 this year for our woodsy area. I think the squirrels and moles get some of them but it-s the only thing the deer and rabbits won-t eat.

Thanks for the video! Ironically I watched your other daffodil video yesterday evening, no joke to see if you had any info on this subject and here you are this morning with a video. How cool is that -

My Alliums have started coming up I'm in Zone 4B, Will they flower still? should I wait and let them freeze back and hope for the best. Or should I remove them and bring them inside to flower indoors?

I feel so inspired by this video! I'm going to start planting daffodils for naturalizing every fall from now on! We have 20 acres, so I just need to decide on the best area to do it!

Would love to have naturalized daffodils and crocuses popping out of the lawn every spring. That would be so great!

Companion plants that emerge after narcissus blooming that help screen the fading narcissus foliage? Daylilies?

Where can one buy a bulb planter like you are using? I've never seen one like that before. Love your videos -
