Hi Shawn thank you. I noticed you filled the fuel on your saw first. I've worked cutting trees professionally and most days I would go through two to three tanks of fuel. Every now and then you might forget to add bar oil. The saw won't run with out fuel so I and most professional's make it a habit to always fill the bar oil first. Even when I'm just cutting around home I check and fill the bar oil. If you run out while sawing it isn't always noticeable and it can trash a bar pretty quick.

You're talking safety but yet you purposely choose to be alone in the forrest doing this sort of work? You don't hint for carrying a phone or make sure to let somebody know at intervals with a sms you're okay, at least that's how I do stuff like this when I'm alone in our forrest chainsawing away. Exciting nature in Canada, paradise but also serious wild life like bears, cool.

Question for you. Why do you use your large saw for doing tasks that a much lighter, less demanding saw could do? I've got my large saws but I switch out to my little Stihl MS 170 which is a lightweight limbing saw because it doesn't wear me out. Just wondering, but once again, love your videos and the content, including your self reflections!

Hey Shawn. I'm curious about the chaga you mentioned that won't have the health benefits that chaga harvested from trees that are still partially living would. As a fungus isn't it only going to grow on dead wood? I'm not sure why it would matter how long the wood had been dead. Always great to see your vids, thanks

A favorite childhood memory is helping my dad cut firewood, it felt great to get to learn to use one of his smaller saws. Nothing like a day in the forest cutting firewood, thank you for a fond trip down memory lane. Gonna have to go wake up one of my own saws now. thanks!

It tends to make me nervous when I see someone cutting down dead trees. Just a word of caution; I worked with a sawyer that was injured twice in one year cutting down dead trees. Just the vibration of his saw caused some limbs to fall from the tree while he was cutting it down.

I think it would be jaw dropping hilarious if you did something completely out of character, like throwing the empty oil jug out into the woods when you finished with it. Can you imagine folks commenting in disbelief? April Fools Day would be great for it.

My Grandfather used to say firewood warms you three times, (1)when you cut it, (2)when you haul it home and (3)when you burn it. It's good to see you are conscious of conservation Shawn. Thanks for the uploads.

I don't know what gave you the idea to do these without talking thru them, but it w was brilliant. Its surprising how enjoyable it us just to watch, then hear your thoughts later. I would never have thought of it.

Shawn: The next time you sharpen your chain saw after tighten, look at the bottom bar. If the teeth on the bottom of the bar tilt from side to side 5 degrees flip your bar. It will double the life of your bar.
