I Always wondered how you would store your meat. I thought you would have to salt it. Silly me That is such a great idea! The fridge even as small as it is is a power drainer. Living of the solar panels brilliant. This is just so Educational, Interesting, and so relaxing. Thank you for sharing your life Shawn, cali and family. I really hate T. So my question is with the outhouse, it has to be below 0 in there. How could you possibly use the bathroom without freezing? Maybe some type of toilet seat that stays in the cabin so its at least warm when you need it and you just take it back and forth as needed? Your just sitting on it, right? Kind of a gross question but I was wondering because at 3 in the morning and you gotta go and you jump out of a warm bed and into a -15 degree outhouse would be kind of BRRRRRR!

Its interesting to go back and relook at how things evolved. The thought that went into it, especially the whys. I like the self reliance because there are a lot of cross currents in life that destabelize. Security and stability based on faith and clossness to nature first. Then build.

I used styrofoam iceboxes for potatoes in my moms garage during winter! Worked great! She lived in eastern Oregon, Ontario! Lots of snow and freezing weather!
