This is It! My New Off Grid Log Cabin in the Wilderness The End and The Beginning

Here is the layout of my new off-grid log cabin. My old off grid log cabin in the wilderness is empty and I have moved out, ready to work full time on my new log cabin and wilderness homestead. I clear the site, lay out the footprint of the cabin and begin digging the foundation. An early canoe trip down an icy river ends badly, maple sugar season comes to a close, I move out of the old cabin and I cut deer steaks on an open fire at the new homestead

Shawn. Something I always thought of doing, even as a kid in 1959 when my Mom and Dad had their house built. Set up at least 1 of your cameras to time lapse the whole build process/summer without moving it. Mount it to a tree, high up. Plan for a larger battery and tree limb growth. Maybe keep your ladder stored under it so you can always know where it is at and to make for easy memory card changes. Heck, you could even do your whole life year after year. I'm sure all us fans would like it, and your Grandkids. (Years from now, even Great Grand kids, et cetera et cetera)

You recall my young family's trips to Canada up at Tilly Lakes. We were s-o-o-o young, the children just babies, everything so brand new for us this land that had seen so many begin their lives. I see us fording the risen creek, espying beaver, wrapping the nature around us, evolving into the solid family that lasted and lasted despite all.

Was sad to see all your possessions cleaned out of the old cabin and seeing how empty it was and felt when you closed the door behind you when you left. Didn't expect it to be empty so soon, expected a gradual process. Anyway, excited to see the new cabin build. Looks like it's gonna be a good sized cabin. Good luck with the new build!

Maybe you've addressed this before and I just missed it but, after having built the previous homestead and working on this one, how has your fitness level changed? You're lifting a lot of stuff, doing a lot of manual labor, etc, so have you noticed a difference in your strength, stamina, and whatnot?

Shawn, I can't believe how much snow has melted. The loam and clay is so loose, I can not believe that the ground is not frozen still. The new homestead seems like an excellent location. The running stream is great for so much, even a power generator. Wishing you godspeed with the journey.

My wife and I watch you religiously and I can honestly say that the shot of the empty cabin and you driving off made us so sad. We often tell each other how we would feel having to leave such a beautiful place especially if we had put so much time and work into it. Peace and love all!

Sad to see the old place empty! A new beginning is always fun, also gives you the opportunity to correct any of the mistakes (very few) you made the first time around. Might have missed it but where is the workshop in relation to the new cabin build?

I decided today: In the next life I will be Shawn James! . or at least Calli!
Thank you for being an inspiration and I hope, you do feel the love, respect and the positive energy of so many of us. You'll never walk alone! Best wishes from Iran.

Drone footage tons of camera angles slo mo footage. Huge editing job! This is a big production. Super well done. Kinda makes me wonder where the camera crew is and how many are involved? I have learned about Chaga Chunk coffee. Think I'll try some.
