Building Heated Raised Beds in an OFF GRID Greenhouse Growing a Food Forest Wilderness Garden

The raised beds are being built in my off grid greenhouse and will contribute to my self reliance. I'm excited to see what types of food I can grow and how productive it will be in this northern forest setting. Arctic Acres has successfully tested these greenhouses in the arctic so I am really looking forward to seeing what it can do here. Kim: Love the green house, not sure it would survive our hurricanes here in South Florida. But would be able to grow so much more food. I'm trying to talk my husband into a screen house. Maybe better down here then what you built. We do have a few people in the area that built dome houses, and they weather the hurricanes quite well. Zero points of wind resistance

Hi again SHAWN
Been I'll but got caught up again. Must say just remarkable how wonderfully the new homestead area is coming along. You put in a full day and accomplish soo much.
Seems like as the years have gone bye you've gotten stronger and more secure in your skills. Your forest gardening and the greenhouse will produce an abundance and when things are established will be wonderful additions. What you're creating with your hands

I noticed there are some solar powered water pumps. There are also some battery powered pumps like the kind used for camping showers. But there is this one battery powered pump that is small, portable and might help: Superior Pump 91250 1/4 HP Thermoplastic Utility Pump, Black. It is used for yard ponds or rain barrels. Hope it helps.

The greenhouse is looking great. Just curious though, where do you sleep at the current time? Is it in the workshop or in the shed? I would imagine the greenhouse would be too warm. Otherwise, love the scenery, especially seeing the moose calves.

Hi Shawn. I know you've been using biochar with success on your garden, do you use or have you considering using the Korean Natural Farming method for your fertiliser requirements? Absolutely love the geodesic dome, year round greens!

Shawn, look forward to seeing that hexagonal green-house in the dead of winter wondering how high the vegetation grows, the humidity and temperature. Also wonder how it compares to a traditional arch greenhouse. Good job!

Looks as if annoying neighbors actually did you a favor. Magnificent upgrades to your lifestyle, you will spend many comfortable years safe and sound in your new environment no matter what happens in the now crazy world.
