Building a Geodesic Greenhouse, Completing the Growing Dome

I put a roof on the solar panel shelter and we finish building the geodesic growing dome greenhouse in the forest. Ben from Arctic Acres spends two days with me completing the dome, installing solar powered exhaust and intake fans and a water reservoir (next video. We cook our meals on an open fire in front of the shelter and deal with waves of blackflies that hatch as the weather warms. Maggie: Wish Canada would send some rain Virginia's way. We are so dry here in the Shenandoah Valley, and we've already had one (thankfully, relatively small) forest fire up on the Blue Ridge. Looking forward to how you plan to finish the greenhouse inside!

I love your videos like this! So relaxing to watch. I could sit for hours and watch! love the peace and quiet and the sounds of the woods, wind, cracking of the fire, etc. You may have already covered this, and I did look through your past few videos, but. how far is this property from your original homestead? and do you have a somewhat good road to drive in on, to your new property? and then if you do, how far do you have to walk or take your ATV to get to your homestead? Also. where are you staying/sleeping/ now? Are you going back and forth from your original homestead to here, or staying in town? or staying at the little woodshop you built? curious minds want/need to know! I've watched from the beginning! Maybe you could do a little summary video of all this?

I like what You said about store bought eggs having thin Shells.
I noticed that around here also.
They have what they call Ciaprinha eggs here. Home grown poduct. .
Stronger shells on them.
Im gueesing it is because they force the chikens to lay more often and keep them locked in cages all thier lives. That they have weaker shells.
Probably less protien in them also.
I wish the gov. Would force egg farmers to treat thier chickens more humanely.
Mike.

I laugh at everyone who complains about the 360p quality when im so used to watching in that quality, let alone did anyone ever think about why he uploaded in low quality. My guess is cause signal quality sucks out there and its faster to upload in 360p than in the 1080p - 4k people expect. Your still getting content regardless of the quality, as long as there is content im happy.

I watch all your videos. It s exciting to watch how you start with nothing and make a beautiful homestead. I was so sorry you had to leave the other homestead. It s great watching you build this one completely different from the first. I m an Avid fan. I want my husband to start watching you I know he would enjoy it as much as I do.

Loving the feel of the new homestead. It truly feels like a new beginning. Excitement in the air or is that just ice. Lol. I can see a blacksmith forge in the future so you can make a cook set for over your fire pit. Thanks again Shawn for taking us all along on your journey.

love the progress you're making on this greenhouse. may i suggest that maybe sometimes you wear a head mounted GoPro camera so we can experience a little POV camera angle from your perspective up? doesn't have to be much but would certainly add to the viewer's experience imho

I really hope you're training up younger wood workers in this project. I've been so saddened to see the lack of interest of late (UK) to do anything that constitutes hard labour. Appreciate your dedication and hard work

Surely it'd have been easier to do the top ones first, so you can install them from inside on the platform, then finish at the bottom, so you can do the last one safely from the outside, standing on the ground?

Thank you Shawn! Love your videos and adventures! If you ever decide to have a Rendezvous like they had in the American West in the 1800's I will try my best to come!
