Preparing the foundation for stone veneer, full scribe log cabin, moving heavy logs, moss for chinking, cooking on a campfire, drone view of cabin site. Sherry: I love your videos and have watched for several years. Your videography and photography is amazing. As I was watching you work on one of the front logs, I watched Calli walk very slowly down the lane towards the greenhouse and she turned and looked at you for a good while then laid down. She looked so sad and all alone. I still think she needs a playmate.

Is it my imagination, or are you doing lots more measuring and are these much bigger logs than the first one? It seems you are being much more exacting in your work (which is saying something. I also wanted to thank you for being so open about the issue with your eye. So many want to follow in your footsteps and you do a real service when you pause to remind others about safety. How lovely to see Cali in such fine fettle too. My goodness, every dog in the world should have what she does. the freedom to roam anywhere. How telling that her favorite spot is right by you. Shine on Shawn. Impossible to describe the pleasure and awe I experience watching you build. Take care.

34: 42 I can see now how that cabin is going to have more living space in that one section of it. Still confused where the bedroom part is going to be added and whatever is going to happen on the left side. I'll find out though if I watch enough future videos. I have no idea where the next wood stove is going. Still like the idea of having a big tall opening in a wall and a wood stove being in it's own room that's also an extruded chimney. But it looks like that space is big enough already to where that wouldn't be necessary. It's going to be quite nice when done. You'll get there. Work safe and stay alert

She only has eyes for you. It s adorable how Cali comes to you for some cuddle time. Great video. Watching you manipulate those heavy logs wore me out. Lol
It s so fun watching the progress.
I enjoy the cooking. It amazes me how good you make your meals over an open fire. Looking forward to next video. Glad your eye is healing well.

This place is going to be one of the safest places any human would be lucky to reside and work with you in. Looks like it will sustain any kind of bad weather. Your family is sooo blessed, thank you for sharing. Hope we get to experience even if virtually a stormy howling winter night by the fire.

I can t even imagine how you ll work on these huge logs as you get higher up. I think I d pick a spot to switch to stick build. Five logs up, max, and even then I d be terrified of an accident. But then that s why I don t have two million people around the world following me, lol!

Some great video moments here: 'a tale of two cables: ' first, the huge timber is being winched using the ATV. Immediately after, we saw YOU pulling a cable. and it is just attached to a light sledge! Of course, the wonderful autumn scenery around your property also looks fine!

Well I will say one thing about those huge logs, The second course looks like it s past your knee, wow about three feet high already. I loved the drone footage at the end of the whole cabin layout, glad to see the eye doing better, very nice progress. Michigan is a big fan.

Amazing dedication. question: why didn t you cut them with the mill into large square Timbers and build it like the workshop? Or even flat on the top and bottom - Would have been easier, faster, and looked awesome. Just curious about your thoughts.

If you're going to use the whole bag of cement/plaster/whatever, to reduce the amount of dust, cut the bag all the way along the side. In my experience much less dust floating around when dumping it out, compared to a top cut.
