I love your videos, but I am a little disoriented about the workshop. Is it moved closer to the cabin & if not, how far away from the cabin is it I see the woodshed behind the workshop addition, but I thought the woodshed was closer to the house & the workshop was much farther away. If the workshop is now facing west, does that mean the cabin is facing north or south Please help me figure out how the various structural views relate to each other. I love them all & I'm fascinated by your many skills.

Great Video, i had to sit down and watch this while eating Breakfast, i will watch it again tonight. i will say one thing, thats a sharp saw you got there. got to get one. i think your a pro at Building any thing. i learn a lot. i must say. course i worked on cars and trucks all my life. but i love wood work. im going to foam board my upstairs. this year, i been putting it off, its going to happen. i need the warm winter nights. Cali knows right what your doing. haa Be careful Shawn

Shawn's favorite pet bat, complaining and warning him to stop prodding with that crowbar! Bats are so great to have around, I love them. GREAT video, thank you so much. -) [That's a smile, blind as a bat! ] You know, Shawn, if your waist gets any more trimmed down you will need to quit Self Reliance and get a job as a model for rugged outdoor gear and apparel. But if the apparel company sees your beautiful wife first they would hire her instead!

I love the addition, great job! Reminded me a lot of the days at the first cabin, you and Calli, doing what you do best. Your imagination and creativity know no limits. How old is Calli 5 or 6, I can't remember, anyway, maybe it will come up in one of your videos. Thank you for the knowledge and enjoyment you bring. Kudos mate.

I think your still going to eventually build on a bedroom to the actual log cabin. I don't think you've said otherwise and as yall get older it's going to get harder to climb up into that loft to sleep and dangerous too.

I am wondering why you installed a tar paper underlayment on 2 sides of the workshop addition, but not on the 3rd side
Great video, really miss this type of content. And while we all understand you have a LOT on your plate these days, I'm sure hoping you can find time for more videos like this.

Ya know Shawn you're the best at swinging a hammer! I see you're making more use of man made items like the underlayment, this is very smart too. This new cabin has more in store for those that reside within than your last cabin. I like what you do always It's good to see Callie having fun like always.

So enjoyed watching this Shawn. My grandfathers built their homes, barns and out buildings like this with the same tools. I played in my maternal paws out buildings my entire childhood until grown. Even used his outhouse until we got a real bathroom. Glad to see you doing it the real old fashioned way.

My Golden turned 14 today. Watching Kally ) chase her toy with her tail wagging hard reminds me of all of the games and playing I did with Denver when she was that age. She's still very healthy and active, but just slower and has a little difficulty standing up. I cannot imagine life without her.

I like it when you build something and it has to fit in something else and it fits in TIGHT! (and he does this a lot) That's REAL skill. I love it when I see something like that. If I ever could put a dream team together for the apocalypse Shawn James would be right on top of that list.

In my country if you found a (sleeping) bat of any kind you must stop all work going on, you are not allowed to disturb it and you have to build or place a special bat nestingbox and wait for them to leave the building site. Even if it is just one bat! its a bit ridiculous.

Will you be staining the outside of your cabin noticed in this video that the logs are turning grayish and not so visually pleasing. The chicken coop house is very visually pleasing, and it’d be nice to see your main dwelling looking as beautiful outside.

A competent master craftsman at work! So well done. Time to build an extension, fit windows and doors, build a porch, insulate the roof, watch the birds, play fetch with Kelly, take a short walk and top up the wood shed. Amazing!
