what I can't figure out is that you use a ton of modern stuff all over your videos and you take a hand saw to cut the ends off off the corners to make your extension walls. why not get out the chainsaw. hell you make enough money. why not buy a better chain saw. you own a mill, an atv, a snowmobile a camper a truck and you take out a friggin hand saw to cut those logs. go watch James at wild homestead. your first cabin was a hand work primitive what you do now isn't and nor is the wood on your addition. holey frig stop with the medieval show time.

Like they say a farmer's day is never done. They put you on the chain gang breaking rocks I see. That's a real workout, where is the power sawzall for those big beams. The projects seem never-ending, Shawn.
My brother-in-law was always rebuilding his house a 4 bedroom 3 bath, for ten years only one bathroom was working, lol. As he got older he injured his back and they had to sell the house, it cost him $60K to have someone else come and put the house back together to make it sellable. Be careful, you're not getting any younger.

So glad you’re back.
It’s ok in five years you and your wife can take another long vaca.
I look forward to those videos but for now I enjoy the next five years as I have enjoyed for the last 5 years, idk maybe more. I started watching when u were camping out with young calli and started building first cabin.
So glad you made the right move. This is way bigger and better.
I just love the little stone house.
Something whimsical among all the woods.

SHAWN & OUR CALI ! I watch all of what you put on out I need it for my own self! Miss the wood but I remember how the wood feels under my hands like you doing there ! Saw the first cabin I helped build now ! It is looking great! Just thought this work shed would be made bigger & it is now ! Keep going on !

Wow, I remember you telling us when you built the workshop that those squared-off logs you used for it were a lot heavier than the ones you used for your earlier cabin builds; and now you're lifting up the whole workshop you built from those extra-heavy logs all at once!
Having the right lifting tools really makes an enormous difference!

You’re looking lean and fit Shawn! If you would, could you give an update on how you’re feeling since you started carnivore and if any, is there any detriments or negatives. I’ve started working into mostly carnivore myself and after 3 weeks I’m already seeing results but I’m not 100% all in at this point. Thanks Shawn!

DEIR JAMES. i do have a worry about you. please look at you back in the last videos 2-3 years ago and look very carefully at you. and than turn back and look criticaly at you. could you observ only the shadow of the man which who you been. i think it is from the pandemi bad decizion. what we see on you. i hope i am wrong

Sooo, ummm, you DID NOT build a foundation and made sure it was compacted and stable/level BEFORE your structure was built Seems like a lot of unnecessary/ aggravating work that would have been better done when there was NOTHING there to begin with, to be honest. And yes, you had the ability to do so.

Pumping iron greetings from Indiana. So did the Ice move the wood blocks holding it up must have been the Heaving and now your footers are going allot farther down hopefully the frost will not go as deep as your footers but every year is different I wish you luck Shawn stay healthy and take care

LOVE watchin you do all those things manually like you do. Amazing want a man can do, when he really wants to. Can't believe the HOA hasn't fussed about the noise. LOL Thanks Shawn, I really appreciate all th work you put into bringing us the excellent videos you do on your work.

Whilst I know this workshops will end up another masterpiece, in Shawn's hand, it pains me to see that beautiful little building been dismantled, after watching every process of its build. It has been my absolute favourite. Now I wait to see what Shawn will do with it now.

Seems like your not content unless your are doing some construction, destruction or realignment to get something where you want it to be. You also seem to be like that never ending story with projects. You are doing a great job. Thanks for sharing and have a grand day.

You two are taking on a lot!
All your hard work and that rush before the snow Flies always a challenge.
In the End you can look back at everything you've done and Smile .
Enjoy that warm feeling inside knowing it's all BEEN a labour of LOVE.

Shawn, all of us realize that your efforts are spread pretty thin these days. For myself, I am not interested in the other two projects but encourage you to succeed and be safe. I started watching because of the building and homestead, I will keep watching.

Shawn seems to be all the place for what he wants. Nothing wrong it and I see his point. For years it was building cabins in the woods with minimal tools and roughing it in a sense. Now it's farming, adding new equipment, livestock, etc.

That bag of cement was a bit lumpy. Does age and moisture affect the quality, in your findings You obviously were still able to use that bag, but would it have been 'good' for much longer How long could one store a bag of cement

im not into gardening and this content which includes building projects is a lot more interesting to me. I am amazed at the amount of wood you use, is this all from your woodland and milled or do you purchase some

At 77. I have been busy canning for a year of tomato products, whole tomatoes, tomato sauce are done, next salsa and spaghetti sauce. This way I control what is in the final product. Yowsers on lifting up the shop!
reply

I always liked this building but I sure wondered why you made it so small! You do too many things to use such a tiny space, you need a BIG shop!
Edited for spelling. I despise spell check! Every time.

Looking forward to seeing what you are going to be doing on the Workshop area. Thank you for sharing your awesome content, all the best to you and your family. Cheers from Simcoe County Ontario Canada!
