Bacon and eggs are served and more bass are caught as we settle into a normal day of summer camping. There's a little bit of everything including swimming, food preservation, water purification tips, wild edible identification, fish cleaning, and cooking more fresh fish over the fire. Regarding the fish: We had a long discussion about this fish in another video that I used the clip in and if you look close enough, the fish's brain was scrambled by my knife before I skinned it which I did after hitting it over the head. Fish move long after they are dead and can't feel pain. Research on Fish and Pain: By and large, it is absolutely not advisable to interpret the behaviour of fish from a human perspective. This is a professional. and yet the fish are still breathing and moving their gills. Are they still alive too? Interesting Plant Research: That plants possess an intelligence is not new knowledge, but according to Modern Farmer, a new study from the University of Missouri shows plants can sense when they are being eaten and send out defense mechanisms to try to stop it from happening

We never ate bass here in Wisconsin. My dad and uncle would never let us keep bass when we were kids probably cuz of those little worms. Now that I'm am adult we keep and eat em sometimes. I fished a small lake in Menoqua, Wisconsin that was over run with bass and DNR wanted them fished out. We kept a bunch of Large Mouth 11-13 inches and some smallies same size. Bass smaller like that had no worms, and they were really good eating. The fillets could have passed for Perch at that size! It was Little Lake Tomahawk, and it had an exemption allowing no size limit, no catch limit & all year round for Bass In spring we would fish a fallen tree for Crappie and limit out. I miss that Lake.

Actually 11: 49 well for a 4 day trip bringing a 2 more pairs of underwear and socks shouldn't be a problem and they weigh nearly nothing. But well I could live with that. Pants I say you are wrong depending on where you are the weather can change quickly and the weather reports are not reliable and having an extra pair is nice when you get out of the rain or for sleeping.

Hi there, in love your videos, i think it great to possess outdoor skills as you have, especially in such a tech - rotten - apple age as we are in now. I was wondering. what do you do with all your animal remains in order not to attract any wild animals that you dont wanna have in your camp during the night? Hug a tree for me, Martin

Man, I'm dreaming about life you live and such wonderful family you have. Here at Poland, everything you do is forbidden and local society fooled by media are very critical about hunting etc. Hunting licence is very hard to get without connections. There is about 1 weapon/100 people. Best wishes.

- The Wooded Beardsman - do you take any soap when you go camping? Either body or dish etc? Perhaps an eco-friendly variety? Both curious and hoping for a good suggestion. Awesome family btw, looks like you made some great memories for life, especially the boy. Thanks for the vid- JTZ

I have the same Radisson canoe. Bought back in 1990, for like 600 dollars and is still in operation today! Thank you for your time and all your effort producing these videos. You do a great job teaching people about nature, and how they should put down their smartphones and try it.

Why not submerge the warm water in the lake to cool it off. And why is your gal washing your banana hammock where your getting your drinking water. even if you are boiling it.
