I load up my simple shot slingshot and head out for some intense slingshot squirrel hunting action in the woods! After, I come back to the cabin and cook up my fresh caught rare black squirrel in cast iron using apples, potatoes, olive oil, woodobo spices, and butter to make a delicious meal! If you think hunting squirrels is easy, just because you see them in your backyard, you couldn't be more wrong. It takes a lot of skill to hunt squirrels, especially because woodsy squirrels are much more cagey and alert. You will have more luck hunting squirrels from a treestand as they seem not not look up as often as they alert when approaching from the ground. I used regular steel ammo for hunting, but it's advised to use heavy lead as it will have much more knock down power. It's better to use a 22 LR however, but if you're interested in a challenge, for sure try a slingshot for squirrels!

You're lucky to be in an area where you have large squirrels to make it worthwhile to actively hunt them. The fox squirrels that were introduced here in Montana everywhere else they're huge except here they're about the size of a red squirrel from Michigan. When I go to the woods I take good old fashioned rat traps salty pumpkin seeds, enough for the stewpot, chipmunk is sweet.

When I was little, we took care of a baby squirrel who had been abandoned by its mother. I loved that little critter, but we eventually had had to let him out in the wild. He went to visit us every day. But one day he stopped coming, I to this day wonder why.

Love me some squirrel hunting. Season opens here on Oct. 1 and will be camping out for a few days and bring my grandson. Nothing like stewed squirrel over rice or squirrel with dumplings. Doesn't get any better. Ha ha. chowing down baby. Nice video.

My favorite gun for hunting squirrles was a Savage over under 410/22 great for squirrels and grouse.
