Massive Bait Catch with Surprise Cobia & Snook in Tampa Bay

I had a great time fishing the flats in Tampa Bay with my buddy Max. To start the day, we caught a massive school of pilchard bait fish in our cast net. There was so much bait in the net, Max and I struggled to pull the net into the boat. We had to let most of the bait go before filling the live well. From there, we managed to catch some speckled trout, a surprise cobia, and snook.

What does a charter like that cost in that area? Would be kind of nice to see some basic rates shown on the website, but there are none. If some base rates were posted on the website, it seems like that would streamline the actual contacts & bookings that may otherwise be flooded with messages only asking about rates. So please, don't anyone respond by saying: If ya have to ask, ya shouldn't be inquiring or If ya have to ask, ya can't afford it. Not everyone is well off enough that price doesn't matter. If I were a professional guide with my own business, I wouldn't want to be flooded with calls & emails only asking about rates, and then many of those inquiries are never heard from again. So wouldn't posting basic rates streamline everything & make it easier for both the guide and the prospective clients?

Oh man, this really makes me miss home. I grew up in Brandon and I fished in Tampa, Saint Pete, John's Pass, Fort Desoto, Bradenton, I've been out on the Gulf Charters so many times for Grouper, and I miss it so much. I haven't been home since 2009.

My dad once caught a northern pike in a lake in Emily, Minnesota. It barely fought, but it was 45-48 inches long. We never sent it in to be recorded as some sort of record, but it did serve as one hell of a meal.

Lmao I feel you Josh. I was going for Snook with no bites for the first hour and then somethings pulling my live liner drag. Felt like a fight and when pull it up. A freaking catfish. My dreams of Snook diminished.

You guys are too funny. Not only do you catch great fish and teach us how to do it too, but you are willing to jump in the water to try and bring in the fish What? Oh, he was just cooling off. Ha

you know snook don't have teeth right you can grab them by the lip. You shouldn't grab fish like that, It's not good for them but love your videos. keep it up

You shouldn't net trout you aren't keeping, you take the protective layer of slime off them which helps prevent parasites and things of that nature

I'm glad your having a good time making your move. But If your not going to eat the fish, Leave it in the water don't handle it. Fishing Tampa Bay 60 Years.
