MASSIVE Topwater Snook Fishing

I meet up with my friend Ryan Nitz to fish the backcountry mangroves for giant snook using topwater lures. We started sight casting these giant fish with live mullet. The fish were aggressively feeding on the surface After hooking a few with live bait, we decided to switch to topwater lures. The first snook Ryan pitched at destroyed the lure, and from then on the rest of the day was incredible Almost every snook we spotted and threw at tried to eat our lures

The drone footage is great. Ive found these laid up snook before and always thought a drone would be an ideal way to find more. Any theories on this behavior? Pre spawn or post spawn? Everyone says fish the inlets and beach in the summer but my experience over the years is the opposite. Like this video shows the monsters have some staging or resting spots. If you find them its crazy. Also kills all those who claim you can only use topwaters during low light conditions. They will clearly eat well in the midday sun.

I would fish my condo dock on the inlet of Venice Island, Fla and catch hundreds of these snook. 20 meters from the front door of my condo, next to The Crows Nest restaurant in Venice Island, Florida. It was one of the first docks built in the 60's and had to be grandfathered in due to its immense size. Docks are no longer allowed to be built of this size within the inlet. Click the underwater lights on, have a nice incoming tide, and rip square bill crankbaits right along the dock. Heaven.
