hello Darci,
first let me start out by saying that i love to see woman getting out in nature and enjoying the world and what it has to offer. secondly by getting out there and videoing and posting what you do you set an example for other women and young girls and show them that they to can play with the men and still be a woman. that being said as much as i enjoyed the video i was a bit disappointed that one you for the most part left the rod in the rod holder for almost the entire fight and let the boat do the fighting for you and two that you cut the leader instead of the hook and left the hook in the shark. i know that eventually the hook will most likely rust and fall out but it does take quite a bit of time for that to happen all the while exposing the shark to a greater possiblity of infection then if it had been removed. i applaud you for getting out there and going after your goals but that being said and i mean no disrespect to you but if you are going to go out and take on one of mother nature's top contenders i think it should be on as even a playing field as possible. once hooked hold the rod in your hands and fight the shark as fairly as possible your muscle and stamina against its muscle and stamina. may the best predator win if you land it you did it not the boat and if the shark out last you and escapes it earned it's freedom and if it doesn't at least you can say you fought it as fairly and evenly as possible then regardless of the outcome know one can say anything other then you did your best and fought an honourable fight. once again i mean no disrespect and commend you on getting out there and also for catch and release but i do hope that in the future you will remove the hook and consider my opinion about fighting the fish a bit more fairly giving no advantage nor taking any and allowing the best predator to win. god bless and i look forward to seeing more of your adventures and more of you setting the example for girls and women everywhere to get out there and try new things.

great looking shark! I love seeing people release the big ones. take a pic and release so they can breed. keep up the good work D. I'm jealous of you guys living in Florida. When I lived in Houston we'd catch stuff like that all the time but here in Massachusetts there isn't nearly the same amount of big game. keep the vids coming. It's greatly appreciated.

Darcizzle, YOU ROCK! Watching your videos has inspired me to go out and fish today. Any chance we can get you to come fishing with us on our Under Armour sponsored boat out of Cape Hatteras next month?

How heavy was your main line? You said 250 for the leader. I am going down to the keys in March and will be renting a boat. I have 80lb power pro on my salmon rods, will that work with a leader?

Leaving the hook there is ridiculous. any fisherman who releases his catch takes the hook out with long pliers. you didn't have the right tool!
