I used to live in Melbourne/Palm Bay area. We would fish for Black tip sharks in the Indian River. I'd use my throw net to catch finger mullet. Had a 6' beach rod with a large Diawa reel, 50# test and I'd make my own leaders. Hook bait live, just behind dorcal, wade out, cast and let the line spool off as we came back to shore. Usually caught 3 footers, not much of a fight, but really good eating.

Very nice, but I'm a fan of never leaving a shark with a piece of jewelry after a nice fight. I use Mustad 10/0 and 12/0 demon circle hooks, which have always been hooked in the corner of the mouth or the lower jaw. A nice pair of 11 inch pliers helps to remove the hook safely.

Would love to go shark fishing! Got the real fishing buzz now went for my second time a couple days ago with dad and friends caught a 50lb catfish was insane! Could imagine doing this the rush!
