i don't know why bait casting reals are so popular. i assume it is to drag bass out of heavy weeds. i was raised on spinning equipment and people can get spinning equipment that can deal with the heaviest conditions. the funny thing is that now i am older, i've fallen inlove with spin cast. hopefully the spin cast manufactures will start making better quality reals. btw. darcie. you are the best. don't let the haters get to you. fishing is all about fun. not so much for the fish. but then it's not easy being a fish. fish have problems to. and fishers also have problems. so they don't need people disrespecting them when they are only trying to have fun and spread a little bit of knowledge and joy around the world. btw. you need to come to Canada in the winter and do an ice fishing special. you are the best Kid.

I use 76 heavy for flipping heavy cover its a tourney special with 50 lb braid on a caenan by Shimano thats for inshore too but then I have a 7 foot medium its a cherrywood with 12 lb fluorocarbon thats for senkos and flukes weightless stuff with a caenan again then I use a 7 foot med heavy for jigs and lipless Crankbaits with 17 lb florocarbon then I have a med light or med spinning rod with 15 lb braid with leader for all light stuff

This is the setup that I use and it works great Bass Pro Shops Tourney Special Baitcast Reel with a Shakespeare Ugly Stik Elite Casting Rod medium-heavy action 7 ft. and I've caught all different size peacock bass smallmouth and large mouth. The biggest peacock I've caught with it is a 7lb. It works really great and I love my setup.

Hey darcizzile its called cutlash fish here in Trinidad and there mostly on top of water you don't need a sinker to catch one and the mostly bit when the sun goes down also the bite alot
