Ha! people may make fun of you saying muttin snapper instead of mutton but that is just the Southern style of slang when we shorten the end of some words. but I gotta be honest (as a fellow Miami person myself) it always catches my attention when you say bonita instead of bonito: -) ( BonitA is spanish for pretty and BonitO is the fish. but I think you say it accidentally because we often hear the Latin/Hispanic people saying Bonita (meaning pretty) so often in social conversations and maybe you just picked up the habit? :-) Oh well it doesn't affect your awesome fishing and catching skills. Keep up the great work and thanks for making and sharing the videos. +++

Awesome fishing videos! I've never fished offshore but grew up fishing in lakes and rivers here in Louisiana. Our biggest lunker's are the huge striped bass, big catfish like blues and flatheads, alligator gar and gaspagou (sp) (freshwater drum. We caught an alligator gar once that topped out 300lb scales. The biggest catfish I ever caught was a 100 pound Flathead catfish. I caught a 73 pound(correction-76lbs-a record but I didn't get it certified) buffalo fish once too on a crappie, white perch) hook. Apparently the hook was so painful barely hanging in the skin that the fish volunteered to come to the boat. Strange! PS: You have beautiful eyes!

Hey Dar. In Oregon when you are deep sea fishing, you have to have a device that returns the fish to depth or about that in which you caught it at. So private or party boats have to have one or several on board. And it's the Law. When I was a kid in Southern Cali. It was common practice to puncture the swim bladder with an ice pick or similar. And then gently squeeze the air out before tossing back. When this was not done the fish would helplessly try and dive back down but get no where. Seagull food anyone?

I am praying for your dad and your dad's girlfriend's friend, I hope and pray that your dad and your dad's girlfriend's friend are doing ok. I am also praying for you and your family and friends, especially Connor and your dad. I have not let my stage 4 colon cancer, to stop my fishing dreams. I absolutely love fishing, it relaxes me. GOD is in control of my life and your dad's life. Keep up the good work, with your videos.

That's what happens when you really fish up too fast. And if the number reason why so many species of fish are having a hard time recovering after being caught and then thrown back. Me personally I don't like high-speed fishing reels for those reasons I'll stick to my old school 3 to 1 gear ratio no matter what the depth is.

Great video Darcizzle, yeah there's a spot on that fish, if you were going to let go, where you can punch a tiny hole which allows the air out and the fish will live. #AFanAlways

That's not the stomach, that's the swim bladder and it got pulled up from deep water too fast and the fish didn't have time to depressurize it.
