FORAGING food on a REMOTE Beach -SNAILS & RAZORS- Clams Catch Clean Cook Philip: I've lived just south of where you are in Tiverton Rhode Island for the last 23 years after moving out here from Arizona.
Originally from the Bay Area of San Francisco.
And I've just about never heard any New Englander call a little neck clam by anything but a Quahog.
They use to yell at me all the time when I called little necks, clams.
Around here only long necks are called clams---
But being a diver you'd have a ball fanning for clams.
You wave your hand over the sand under water, fan the sand away deeper and deeper until you uncover bunches of long necks sticking up.
One day down here in Narragansett Bay, my friend and I brought up so many clams, his 200hp Mercury couldn't get his 20 foot center console boat up on plane and we had to plow through the water all the way back to the boat ramp.
The waters around here are great for fishing, diving, and shellfish.
Not to mention ducks, geese, doves, Turkey and deer---

My uncle owns a fishing charter out of The Hamptons Long Island, NY. Shinnecock Star Capt John. Tons of fun growing up being able to fish off the boat. When I was young I caught a Striped Bass 1 inch under the legal size. Was so confused why I couldn't keep the biggest fish anyone caught. Lol

you are from Florida if you want to catch a great fighting fish come back to Boston when the Bluefish run. they start in Florida and they are small and eat the whole way up the coast. by the time they get to New England they are twenty to thirty pounds of pure fight.

That's a fun video! And good food y'all! The small black snails we call karakollen in Belgium. They are a traditional treat on fairgrounds and street-fairs. We cook them with selerie, carrot, leek and onion. We eat them with a crooked nail: -)

I just watched Robert with his fancy chef friend followed by Blue Gabe with Doc Brown-s cooking show and I-ve never seen more opposite but equally enjoyable cooking techniques.
