Hi John another cracking session fishing in your fabulous Cornwall, (you are dead right with the news by the way. From a lot of your videos that iv seen of you and your family out fishing its you nice to see that you return a lot of fish back to the sea even if the fish are big enough and not take everything you catch back home or wherever, I wish a lot of other fishermen would be like that instead of keeping everything they catch. John do you or did you ever suffer from sea sickness, I ask because I noticed how much your boat rocks about in the fairly strong wind and tide, if you ever did what do you suggest helps iv tried the wrist bands, tablets, being careful what I eat and drink the night before, as well as during the day while fishing, I find its hit and miss with me sometimes I'm ok and other times I'm sick as a dog. Anyway bye for now stay safe and take care. Les

Well no fishing today, rough weather in Ireland, watching your excellent videos! I'm new to boat fishing so a couple of questions please? Firstly your live bait setup at 45' - presumably there is a stop knot on your line for this or are you setting depth another way? Secondly if I'm fishing jig/pirk/feathers in anything of a wind/tide I feel I'm losing bottom and the baits are dragged behind/upwards - should I just put on heavier weights/jigs?

i always worry when you are grabbing the line without a glove that it is going to slice your fingers open. its your line very thick? i've only really used 5-12 pound lines and fished freshwater.
also how come you return so many instead of selling them to local restaurants? Do you need a special licence to do that? even if its only like 2-3 fish a day not 300?

Allo fella. I am coming down that way for a few day in 2 weeks time. Really want to go coastal foraging. Not to take anything just to enjoy the time. Any advice on where to go or if you do tours yet would be great. I ask last year sometime but changed jobs and never got the chance. But as one of the early subs you have had me hooked for a good while now

Magic fishing John. Is there anywhere I can find out about how to set the depth of the live bait when using a float? Do you have some way of stopping the float carrying on up the line when you drop the fish in. You'll say set at 20' for example but when you reel in the float isn't 20' from the fish? I'm confused but that doesn't take much!

Nice pollack it's good to see you returning the fish. Have you tried using a10- pollack as live bait on a float? Try it when there are big bass about, it's accounted for several doubles even on very shallow inshore reefs. Good luck a d tight lines. Congratulations on your well deserved silver.

Hi mate, love the videos. I-ve just got back into fishing and live in Cornwall as well. What size fixed spools do you use for shore and boat fishing? Been looking for a reel to attach to a spinning rod. Mainly gonna do shore stuff but will get it out on a kayak or little boat if a can.
