Great video John i did the same as you and gave pot fishing a go when living in Cornwall in the late 90's but found it too time consuming and very little fun and the reward using pots was less eventfull. I did make a good few quid selling octopus to a pal on HMS Trafalgar who was half Greek Cypriot and his uncle had a restaurant in Plymouth but then it almost became a second job to meet the demand. What ever works for you but to me it took the fishing out of the fun and potting became a chore. Good luck shipmate and tight lines buddy

Whats going on I thought, old boat and lobster pots, then I realised its a collection of older videos. I think its pretty sad that you kept having pots stolen, enough so it became no fun any more to visit the location you shot them. Around here they lift the pots, steal the contents and drop the pots back down. Bad but at least you dont loose the pot. Thanks for all the entertainment though, Keep up the good work.

Awesome video cobber your videos r never repetitive like 2 other video makers you fish 4 plenty of specific fish not just one. when i was a teenager fishing Hastings beaches and old pier the pro fishermen would kill all spider crabs and throw them back into water how times have changed. Why you never put the camera towards your cages when you realising your catches? Is there something you don-t want us to see? I-d like to see what species are in there and what you are coming back to the sea even if they are small or not cooking value. Thanks

Do seals eat starfish John? I passed the seal sanctuary on my way to Kennack sands, wouldn't have minded a look, but I was knackered after the long drive from Manchester, and just wanted to get my tent up, and my head down.

Another great video. Looking forward to being on our boat out of Mylor on a home (Falmouth area) visit from living in the US next month. Hoping for clement weather, will be trying some wrecks. Tight lines!

Morena John, - I noticed that you are starting to join the old fellers like me who make 'old man groans' when lifting things. is there a compact but strong WINCH for small boats? -
