When we have shark fishing charters here off Florida's east coast. As soon as we get hooked up I immediately get all the other rods out to prevent doing the 'ROD SCOOTING BOOGY' as I call it. LOL.
Also. i make sure that the 'Clicker' is off once the angler is fighting the fish. It may sound cool. but it gets annoying. LOL.
Anyways my friend on the other side of the pond. CHEERS. AND YOU AND YOUR FAMILY STAY HEALTHY AND SAFE!

John - At 08: 40 you were giving a discourse on the use of a wire leader but my fishing experience in the Mexican Gulf our of Venice, LA, indicates that there are several Pelagic species in that area that will not take a wire leader. Is the same in your Cornwall area?
I have several theories, one of which is sharks can detect [taste if you will] the wire through their sensory systems but not other species. What say you?

We really appreciate the videos you spend your time doing. My son is 9 and we spent alot of time rockpooling during the six weeks holidays. I set up a cold water marine tank and he is in his element, learning about different kind of fish, crabs etc. I was tickled when Anthony was telling me the difference between dog whelks and winckles! Great chill out evening viewing. Brilliant!

Great Vid. Went on a day trip (tourist) off Torquay and the weather was terrible. While all were being sick or feeling queasy I fished on lol. Caught one of the only fish of the day and it was a Tope about the same size as the first catch here. Weather was so bad, had bruised ribs from the guardrails. Skipper got a good rollocking from the harbour master when we got back.

Last two years there's been a lot of sharks off falmouth, we could often spot them on the surface as we drifted over wrecks, not seen many this year, suspect it has something to do with the lack of mackerel, although last weekend there was a lot of white bait shoals and loads of tiny mackerel about, really struggled to find mackerel this summer, strange.

Brilliant video's top man I'm disabled but your video's inspirational enough for me to start learning to dive and do some foraging i enjoy camping but now i intend to take things one step further bought all my equipment so first diving lesson tomorrow wish me luck as i wish you well and enjoy what you're doing it's truly amazing thanks buddy

Do you eat scad, fish pie, Star Gazy Pie, fish cakes, with chips. If not, and I haven-t for 30 years, I think it tastes ok. Mrs. American wife is a fussy eater but I might be able to convince her into fish pie, but no scad over here. Any way four fillets like a chunky flatty, and minus the skin- tiny but flavourful fillets, carry on.

Nice job, looked like a good time. It seems like everyone has had good luck shark fishing this year. Where I am from, they have been getting Hammerhead sharks quite a bit lately. Sir, you had a rig with a spinning reel on it. I really like that reel. Can you tell me what it is? Thanks, look forward to your next trip out.

Tope are a threatened species found all over in temperate water, also called finsoup shark. Some cultures cut off the fins for soup and throw away the shark to die. Not only is it a selfish waste of edible meat, but they are now threatened due to over fishing. I would compare the practice to ivory poachers.

As usual you capture the stunning sunrise before you get into the fishing action. Can't quite picture where you were, not off the Isle of Wight is it? OK Target species not achieved ( a rarity for Fishlocker videos) but some nice tope caught. Thanks for posting.
