I had an American video come up on the side panel about buying a live lobster in a supermarket and then keeping it in a slatwater aquarium. Several comments were that lobsters are immortal and just grow bigger with each shell change. Acording to the posters, lobsters either have to be killed or they eventually grow too big to be able to consume sufficient to keep them alive. There were also claims about lobsters living for hundreds of years.
The only knowledge I have of lobsters is from wathching Fish Locker videos. So, I hope you see this and give us some real info on lifespan etc.

one day last year, my buddy was hooking up all the fish. As captain of the boat I excersiced my authority at sea and I confiscated his terminal gear and put it on my rod. I still couldn-t get a bite so I confiscated his rod and put his gear back on and fished his whole setup.
I still couldn-t get a bite, so I gave him back his gear and asked him to catch me a fish, within 5 minutes of dropping down he had the last of our four fish limit on the line. he had been skunked on our previous three outings but this day, he could do no wrong it truly was his day to shine.

Hi John Great video as usual, bream are one of my all time favourite species, really what is there not to like? Totally agree about that old tosh regarding mackeral not surviving after being returned - I have heard the same said on charters about bass as well. Not only repeated by anti-fishing people sadly, was too often used as an excuse to kill everything landed - completely inexcusable. Only seen a real issue with especially large fish brought up from big depths such as in Norway or deep wrecking, then just have to use common sense when enough is enough.

good morning fish locker. i turned 75 yesterday 3/4 of a century old. gad, got a great letter from my daughter jen in salt lake city ut. she relayed a camping trip and hike we went on in detail complete with descriptions i had forgotten about. she relayed just how much fun it was as well as the confidence it gave her, she is my adventure daughter. i spoke to you about creating memories that will help them over the rough spots in life, that camp out and hike was over 40 years ago and she remembers it in detail. keep up the good work dad. cb

You like dark green braid, well the fish see your line above them against the light considering you are not trying to conceal your line in the weed. So if you want to conceal against the sky you need grey, light blue or light coloured. Also if the colour of line changes it is less like a line and fish react to the lateral line of other fish. Clear see through line might be best. Oops, going back in time. BTW, love your videos. Tight lines! -

Love the underwater footage helps give me an underwater image of a spot I fish a couple of miles up the coast its just rock and gullies full of huge wrasse, Pollack and other species, anyway I can now picture in my head the over hang of rock where the wrasse always go for when u hook em, that shoal of mackerel was beautiful.

Hi John,
Amazing footage. Have you tried spearfishing? Angling was my thing but I-ve gotten into spearfishing the past 2 years in the west coast of ireland and it-s a total different ball game it-s brilliant. What camera are you using underwater do you mind me asking it-s so clear -- thanks again

I have a Shetland 570 with a small cuddy cabin. If I light the gas stove (I use the standard camping stove that takes the small cylinders) it heats up the cabin really nicely. I note that you have an open cuddy, but it should still provide a nice heat source.

My best mate does that to me too. I also once had the opportunity to dive with a seal and I was just about to go in and he said, - I wouldn't if I was you it'll rip your face off! - I bricked it and came out. I realised after that he was a billy!

I caught my husband on a fishing trip 11 years ago! Haven-t caught any really fish since. We also have the same problem: feast or famine depending on who we bring with us. Great videos and makes me wish to be on the water! Happy New Year.
