Just when I think I couldn-t enjoy one of your videos more you give us utter joy! Starting the day with the dolphins would be enough for me. I almost hold my breath sometimes waiting for the release, so watching the descender to give that fish its second chance was nothing short of elation. I didn-t know such a thing existed but I am over the moon to learn of it. I am just days away from my permanent move to the Atlantic! I can-t wait to see what I can find there in North Carolina USA, but I-ll keep you posted! Thank you, John, as always, for sharing your passion and knowledge with us.

There you go again, taking the time to save a ling from dying needlessly using a device I would think most people have never heard of. Never mind the fact you put two -table sized- eating pollock back. You are a shining example to us all of what sea fishing is all about. As others comment on how enjoyable the fish locker videos are, I can only agree with them, you are a refreshing delight to watch what ever method of fishing/foraging/exploring you are doing. Thank you for posting and keeping us entertained.

i love your videos when you just go out without too much of plan. try this then try that. brilliant. looking at this one though i felt sea sick vicariously - the last time i went out on a boat i was fine until i stepped off the boat and from then on was swaying all over the place rather than being sick on the boat i felt terrible at home do you ever suffer from this and have you any tips on getting over it because i haven't been on a boat since and would love to.

Been fishing the North Carolina coast all my life, and honestly I have always wondered about how people in the UK fished saltwater recreationally. Been enjoying your videos - amazing to see the difference in lures and techniques and fish - as well as the similarities too. Tight lines and fair seas to you!

I know your new boat is 16' and I wonder why you didn't buy something longer. Saltwater fishermen in the states typically buy an 18' or longer center console when they are fishing offshore as you normally do. We, or at least I, think it is less confining, more stable in rougher seas, and safer.

Quality fishing as usual -
I thought Conger when you lost the first one. I hooked a big one off deep rocks a long while back - a gentle bite followed by a strong pull down; I just couldn-t move it and after a long -tug of war- the hook trace finally gave up.
Powerful creatures indeed!

That was great to see John. And who knows, that Ling may end up paying you a visit in the future, weighing 20lbs, and you'll be very, very happy with it. A great lesson for the rest of us, who have seen fish needlessly killed or worse still, thrown overboard for the gulls.

Another great day out, however you're loosing you touch only managing one dogfish.
Modern tackle and equipment is great, we never had plastic lures or fish finders, the details on that screen was fantastic. Nothing can make up for the anglers skills though, well done.
