We walked a trail around a long set of rapids on the Asheweig River called Howling Falls. When we reached the end we walked and waded the river downstream for a couple of kilometers catching insane numbers of brook trout! It was EASILY the best trout fishing we encountered on our trip and that's saying a lot. At one point I caught 22 fish on consecutive casts! We had both fly and spinning gear with us and most of the fish came on the hardware. The seams we were targetting were so far out in the river Lee Wulff himself wouldn't have been able to reach them. Still a TON of fun and I look forward to returning and exploring that lower water in a freighter canoe. God only knows how incredible it would be!
