North Caribou Camps where I was in late May 2019 is huge. Over 81, 000 acres. Very early in the season the walleye are stacked in current areas and shallow cobbled bottoms close to shore where they're spawning.
Now I found this really amazing and it's a true testament to just what an incredible walleye lake North Caribou is. The camp is on an island in the geographic center of the lake and it's surrounded by sand with deep water nearby. A GREAT summer spot, but I never expected the walleyes would be stacked like cordwood off that island in late May - but they were!
These fat walleye and many, many more were caught within sight of the camp dock. Drop a jig down, drag it a few feet and a walleye would suck it in. Just incredible!
